Mustard pot and lid, early Art Déco, by Minton’s, c 1920. Printed and enameled decoration of stylized flowers in black, yellow and green. Mark for c 1920 and C5015 (pattern number?). Height including lid "3/ 7,5 cm. Condition: fine.

An English Staffordshire bowl and a bread or cake plate, part of an early 19th century tea set. Decoration in blue, beige and gilt of flower garlands and ribbons. Diameter of bowl "6 ¼ /16 cm, of plate "8 ½/ 22 cm, height of bowl "3 ¼/ 8 cm. Condition: some exterior glaze cracks to the lower part of bowl.

Brooch / pin made of ivory or horn, engraved and painted with a pair of auspicious birds, magpies, in a pine tree, accompanied by a poem in minuscule calligraphy. China, c 1900. Width "1 ½ / 3.8 cm. Condition: fine.

Blue and white sparrow beak milk or cream jug and lid transfer printed in two rows with a Chinoiserie pattern. Unmarked, English, c 1790. Height including lid "6 ¼ / 16 cm. Condition: the jug with two hairlines, the lid with star crack and rim frits (cf. pics).

Large Ottoman part belt buckle half, 19th century. Classic Paisley (teardrop) shape. Repoussé and engraved decoration of an eagle surrounded by flowers. Use of both hook and backside bars will make the buckle a perfect and beautiful pendant. The back with engraved name “Aine” in European lettering. Height "3 ½/ 9 cm, weight 49 grams. Condition: fine.

Large lustre-glazed faience or majolica dish by Alfredo Santarelli in Gualdo Tadino, Deruta, Italy. Santarelli (1874-1957) took his inspiration from near-by Urbino, the birth-place of the most exquisite 16th century Renaissance maiolica. Mixing this with Hispano-Moresque lustre glaze effects he created his highly decorative Neo-Renaissance / Istoriato pieces. Early monogrammed AS signature, c 1910. Diameter "12 ¼ / 31.5 cm, height "1 3/4 / 4.5 cm. Condition: fine

Number 9 in a series of 12 Fornasetti plates commissioned in the 1970’s by Martini & Rossi. Each plate depicts an item in their wine museum in Pessione, in this case the first barrel – Il Primo Tino - used for the fabrication of the famous Martini vermouth. Pessione is a village in northern Italy, not far from Torino. The back of the plate gives a contextual presentation of the plate and has the Fornasetti brush in hand mark. Diameter "9 ¼ / 23.7 cm. Condition: fine.

A pair of Milchglas / milk glass cups and saucers with flower decoration in gaudy enamels, made around 1760. Relief moulded wth ribbed and diamond-patterned sides and applied foot rims. The model is to be found in the Corning glass museum collections and elsewhere as originating from the glassworks of Flühli in Swiss Luzern. Diameter of saucers "5 ¼ / 13 cm, of cups "3 ¼/ 8 cm. Condition: one cup with old and yellowed glue repair (cf. pics).

An amber colored vase with an etched and gilt “Oroplastic” frieze of Amazon warriors, the base facet cut. The Oroplastic decoration method was introduced by the Moser glass company around 1915. It became a great success, totally in line with the emerging Art Deco style. Signed Made in Czechoslovakia Moser Karlsbad. Height "3 ¾ / 9.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Exquisite small bowl in Aqua Marine blue and iridescent glass, softly triangular with a swirl. Murano, 1950’s, probably by Alfredo Barbini. Width "4/ 10.5 cm, height "2 ½ / 6 cm. Condition: some wear (cf. pics).

Three early 19th century (c 1810) coffee cans decorated en grisaille with accents in red: the first with a mansion and a gentleman in red clothing passing by carrying a fishing rod, the second a cottage and a romantic mediaeval turret, an old man in red passing by leaning onto his stick, and the third with a small country church, a farmer in red clothing passing by carrying his tools. All three cans Belgian (Vieux Bruxelles) or possibly French (Paris porcelain). Height: 2 ½”/6,5 cm. Condition...

Two lovely pottery vases by Czech Dux, c 1930 or late 1920’s, the larger vase drop shaped, the smaller one bulbous. Slip glaze decoration of grapes in blue, green and brown over white. Height “11 ½ / 29 cm and “4 / 10.5 cm respectively. Green acorn within triangle mark and DUX to the larger vase, impressed model numbers to both. Condition: minor crackling to glaze of the smaller vase, the larger with a nick to the foot rim.

A pair of Imari cups, scalloped rims and decoration of reserves with landscapes and calligraphy in underglaze blue and little berries or dots in overglaze red. Japanese, Edo around 1860, shop mark in underglaze blue. Height "2 ½/ 6.2 cm, diameter "3 ¼ / 8.3 cm. Condition: fine.

Art Déco vase by Camille Tharaud, 1925-30. Camille Tharaud (1878-1956) came from a family of porcelain makers in Limoges. He collaborated with designers like Marcel Goupy and Henri Rapin. At the International exhibition of modern decorative and industrial arts in Paris 1925, Tharaud was prized for his technique of high-fire enamelling directly onto the raw porcelain. Charming coffee cans, decorated with various birds in bright and lively colours, the style typical of the last years of the Amstel factory, 1809-1814. There are three cans. The saucers are from the period, but not belonging - the original saucers probably had corresponding birds in the center. Height "2 ¼ / 6.2 cm, diameter of saucers "5 ¼ / 13 cm. Condition: some wear to the gilt of the upper rim to two of the cups.

Four small bowls or dishes, coasters or ashtrays by Jean Rivier in French Vallauris, all slightly different, variations of a decorative theme between modernism and primitive art very much en vogue in the 1950’s. Jean Rivier (1915 – 2017) established himself as a ceramist in Vallauris in 1952. In the years to come he participated in exhibitions in Paris and abroad together with Picasso and other members of the Vallauris ceramist group. Cloisonné enamel charger or large dish with flowers and a flying bird against a mustard yellow ground, the back with a swirl pattern. Late Meiji or early Taisho, c 1900. Diameter "12/ 30.3 cm, height "1 ½ / 3.7 cm. Condition: a damage to the backside enameling (c f last photo). Interestingly, it shows the kind of marker used to indicate the design where the cloisonné metal straps were to be soldered onto the base. Lovely Rococo bowls of lobed shape. A Sèvres model and Sèvres style decoration of rose heads and other flowers, and gilt sprigs. Painted and scratched mark Nid(erviller) in greyish black to both bowls, indicating a production date between 1793 and 1800. Diameter 8”/20 cm. Condition: some rubbing to the gilt decoration, a hairline to one bowl and a Y-shaped crack visible from the back (as seen on photo).
