A very nice pair of gilt brass hairpins in the shape of butterflies, decorated with kingfisher feathers, jade, glass and amber. China, late 19th/early 20th century. H. 10 cm W. 8,5 cm each. Condition: expected age wear.
Senufo staff with anthropomorphic figure of a seated female. Made of hardwood.
H. 61 cm. One hand and part of the left foot missing. Excellent age wear and patina.

A very rare lacquered wood opium box. The outside decorated with poems, seals flower branches and a bird. The lid with brass handles. When folded out the lid and front become a tray. The box offers place to 5 pipe bowls and a lamp and has two drawers for tools. At the back of the mirror there is another compartment.Under the drawers there is space for a small metal tray. A very rare piece of opium paraphernalia. China, late 19th to early 20th century. Dimensions (closed): 23 x 16 x 14,5 cm. Excellent condition with expected age wear.
Stunning pulley with a human figure carrying a bowl on the head. Exceptional patina and age wear. This piece dates from the estly 20th century, but might even date from the late 19th century. H. 23 cm.

In the shape of two dragons chasing the flaming pearl. High grade silver with enamelled details, 11 smaller coral beads, diameter 9 mm. And one large coral bead, diameter 15 mm. The bracelet is 9 cm wide and 7,5 cm tall. The widest inner size is 6,5 cm. China, late 19th/early 20th century.
The cloisonné stand decorated with rat and vine motif (symbol of long life). H. 18 cm ( 7 inch), D. 10 cm (4 inch). Condition: one chip to the enamel.

Necklace made of 13 carnelian and 14 enamelled silver beads, each ca. 2 cm. long. There are 52 small silver beads between the large ones. At the bottom two dragons chasing the flaming pearl. Hanging on 2 lingzi hooks there is a silver pendant in the shape of a boy riding a qilin, a fertility symbol. At the bottom of the pendant 2 turquoise beads and 2 carnelian flowers. The pendant without the beads measures 8 x 7 cm. The complete necklace is ca. 31 cm. high, the strand is ca. 52 cm long. Please not the very fine engraving on both sides of the pendant. High quality silver. Acid tested. Late 19th/early 20th. century.

The front of the pendant is decorated with 3 figures in a garden, one holding a fan and one holding a parasol. The text on the back of these pendants is usually about protection and good fortune for the wearer.
Dimensions: 7 x 5,5 cm, length of the chain 53 cm. Weight 68 gr.
There are holes on 3 sides of the pendant. There is a hallmark on the top side.
Provenance: Dutch private collection.
The acid test shows a silver content of ca. 90 %.
A very well preserved embroidered silk apron, decorated with small glass mirrors in brass mounts and metal paillets. China, late 19th/early 20th century. H. 83 cm. W. 105 cm. Condition: embroidery is in mint condition, some pieces of glass and a few metal paillets missing.
A very unusual piece that I've never seen before. Possibly this lamp was made as an advertising piece for a lamp shop, or maybe it was used in an opium kit. The foot has decorations in reliëf, covered with enamels.
H. 25 cm (10 inch), D. 21 cm (8,5 inch). Condition: two minor chips to the enamel. The glass seems to be original.

The lid with a sage or immortal holding a book, the handles in the shape of mythical animals, the body decorated with dragons and clouds, the censer is carried by three kneeling boys. Finely embossed and engraved with a boy riding a Qilin (fertility symbol), surrounded by Buddhist symbols. Dimensions: 11 x 8 cm. Three holes at the bottom where chains with bells were once attached. See Margareth Duda - Four Centuries of Chinese Silver, for comparable lock pendants.
Exceptional and early mask covered with a reddish brown paint (original). Oval eyes, sharp nose and full lips. Originally there was an iron pin in the forehead. H. 21 cm. 19th to early 20th century.

This type of necklace with a pendant in the shape of a lock was given to Chinese children, so they would be ‘locked’ to life.
1. Large silver pendant decorated in enamel with two hares. The back with good fortune text. 7,5 x 5 cm. ( wear to the enamel)
2. Lock pendant decorated on both sides with flags and good fortune text. 6,5 x 4,5 cm. ( age wear). With mark.
3. Lock pendant with mythical beasts and floral pattern. The back with good fortune text. 5 x 3,5 cm.
4. Small pendant with floral decoration and text. 4 x 2,5 cm. ( dents and wear). With mark.
Total weight 101 gr.
