A magnificent and rare figure of a fat lady made of painted terracotta. Fat ladies are among the most famous objects of the Tang Dynasty (618-906) and they are a wellknown symbol of wealth.H. 31 cm. Condition: no traces of repairs are visible, most of the original colour is still present.

The small size of the figures (23-29 cm) makes this an interesting and rare group. The moulded figures still have much of their painting intact. The come in different sizes with different faces. Originally they carried wooden attributes or weapons. Condition: normal age wear, a few repairs (one arm and some toes, see pictures), overal in very good condition. Every figure comes with an acrylic stand H. . The group comes with a TL report from Kotalla which confirms the dating of these figures (3 figures randomly tested). Bronze bell decorated with circular ornaments. Excavated piece with a stunning verdegris and lapis lazuli patina. Dongson, 500 BC - 500 AD. H. 19 cm. Condition: intact with the original clapper. Collection number on the inside. Ex Dutch private collection. Ex De Zwaan, Amsterdam.

A very rare pair of wooden tomb figures with original painting. China, Han Dynasty (206 BC-221 AD). Condition: one head broken, appropriate age wear. H. 27 and 25 cm excluding the stands.

Ancient bronze food container dating from the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD). With a domed cover with loop handles. When inverted the cover becomes a tripod dish. H. 15 cm, Diameter 21,5 cm. Condition: Good condition with excellent verdegris and lapis patina. Provenance: Collection Mr. Poel, antique dealer in Den Haag, ca. 1990, private collection Den Haag.

A rare and very attractive Peruvian stirrup spout vessel in the shape of a monkey. Moche period (100-600 AD) Condition: the four legs have been restored, the nose is chipped. This piece comes from an old Dutch private collection. Height 17 cm Width 15 cm

A rare and complete group of an ox and carriage in grey pottery with remains of polychrome. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). The result of the thermoluminescence test by Kotalla is consistent with the dating of this lot. The report is included in the sale. Dimensions: the carriage H. 32 cm, L. 23 cm, the ox H. 18 cm, L. 23 cm. Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted. Rare type of Han amphora, made of red pottery de orated with bronze appliques. H. 19,5 cm. Very good condition, no traces of repairs. Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD).

Standing figure, Nayarit, West Mexico, 100BC-250AD H. 19,5 cm. Good condition: chip to the right ear and a minor repair to the tip of the nose. Good manganese deposits. Ex Dutch private collection, collected in the 1970’s.

Seated hunchback figure, Jalisco, Mexico, 100BC-250AD H. 18 cm. Good condition with great manganese deposits and traces of plant roots. Ex Dutch auction house, ca. 2005, since then in my private collection.

Made of red pottery, covered with a white layer of slib, then painted. Tang Dynasty (618-907). Height 34,5 cm. Condition: expected age wear, overall in good condition. A thermoluminescence-test from Kotalla confirms the dating of this figure and is included in the sale.

Green glazed pottery wirh wonderful iridescence. The roof can be removed and the pig can be taken out of the sty. Similar pieces can be found in the book 'The Spirit of Han'.
