This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Brown, Westhead & Moore around 1875. It is not marked but we found the shape in “A Compendium of British Cups” by Berthoud. The saucer measures 5 ¼ inches and the cup is 2 ¾ inches high. The set has wonderful celeste blue enamel coloring. There are bands of tiny hand painted flowers accenting the rims. Gilded accents and gold trim on rims and handles add to the design. CONDITION: Excellent

This porcelain cup and saucer trio was produced in England in the early 19th century. It is comprised of a tea cup, a coffee cup and a saucer. The set is unmarked. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The tea cup measures 2 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The coffee cup is 2 11/16 inches high, without the handle and has a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. Note the unique handle style. The set is exquisitely hand painted. They are vivid, having almost a two dimensional appearance. Anyone who knows the quality of a rose done by John Rose will recognize this superb artistry. This is a museum quality set. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches and the cup is 1 1/2 inches high. The cup has a ring handle. The set is made of fine, white bone china. It is decorated with cobalt flow blue flowers and leaves, rust red flowers, and embellished with gold. Condition: The back of the saucer has light crazing in the glaze. There is slight wear to the gilding on the edges of both pieces. It is very minor and hardly noticeable.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons between 1873 and 1885. This Asian inspired design was a creation of Christopher Dresser. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/8 inches. The cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/3 inches. It is made of fine, white bone china. The factory transfer design is hand colored with bright enamels. Cranes are seen flying, wading, walking and swooping in the bamboo and reeds. Inside the bottom of the cup is a crane in flight. Suggestion of turquoise waters encircle the well of the saucer and bottom of the cup. The split handle and rims are trimmed with rust red enamel. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The fine, white porcelain is slightly molded with ribs and the handle is an ornate split branch shape. It is decorated with elegant raised and beaded gilding in Art Nouveau style. Bands of embossed gold trim the rims. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Minton in the mid 19th century. It is marked but the impressions are so light it is undecipherable. The saucer is 5 ¼ inches in diameter and the cup is 2 ½ inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The decoration is completely hand painted. The pattern of rose, pansy and forget-me-nots was very popular in Victorian times. There is hand gilded trim around the rims. The rims are turquoise colored enamel. It is an adorable cup and saucer for display or use. Condition: Excellent

This trio of tea cup, coffee cup and saucer was produced in Wales by Nantgarw between 1817 and 1822. Illustration #82 in “Nantgarw Porcelain Album” written by W.D. John, G.J. Coombes and K. Coombes shows a cream jug in the same pattern. None of the pieces are signed. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. It is notable that this saucer does not have a foot rim and is unglazed on the bottom, a detail which is mentioned in the book. The tea cup is 2 1/8 inches tall (without the handle) and 3 3/4” in diameter. The coffee cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The bodies of the cups are finely molded with a small foot and inverted heart shaped handles. The decoration is attributed to London decorators. Hand gilding of such intricacy and delicacy permeates the design. Gilded urns spewing grapes and vines like fountains alternate with wide gilded vessels containing colorful enameled flower arrangements. Every inch is dripping gold and flowers. At the center of each piece is a knot of flowers. The outside of the cups are ringed with a gilded band of berries and leaves. The rims and handles are trimmed with gold. The superb artisans who decorated these pieces had the additional challenge of painting inside the cups. This was accomplished with precision. Is there any doubt these are some of the most beautiful porcelains in the world?

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1892. The date ciphers in the mark indicate this year. The set is made of fine white bone china. The decoration is in the Japanese Imari style. There are borders of cobalt blue, baskets of flowers and all kinds of gilded ornaments. The set has a graceful shape and elaborate design. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1898. The date cipher indicates this year. The plate is 6 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5 3/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 3/8 inches. The set is made of fine, white bone china that is highly translucent. The ground color is blush, shading from light peach to beige. The hand enameled decoration of chrysanthemums and foliage is done in high relief and enamel coloring. The chrysanthemum blooms are nearly encrusted. It is amazing to run your fingers across them, feeling the petals. The edges of each piece are raised scrolls painted light olive green. These scrolls are highlighted with gold. This pattern was a very successful combination of texture, colors and design. It would be a prized possession for any collector. Condition: There is slight crazing on the cup only seen with magnification.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1878. The date letter indicates this year. The saucer is 4 ¼ inches in diameter and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The decoration is a transfer design in the Kakiemon style. There are scrolls, mons, and leaves that are Asian inspired. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. Condition: The cup has light, clean crazing in the glaze you must use magnification to see.

This porcelain tea cup, saucer and plate were produced in England by Spode Copeland in the late 19th century. The plate measures 5 5/8 inches square, the saucer measures 4 3/4 inches square and the cup is 2 5/8 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The set is interesting in that it is square in shape. It is decorated with cobalt blue borders that have raised enamel beading. There is fancy gold trim and light blue panels at the bottom of the cup and in the well of the saucer. The set displays a formal elegance. Condition: There is slight crazing on the bottom of the cup. It is otherwise in excellent condition.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Spode around 1800. The saucer is 5 5/8 inches in diameter and it is 1 1/2 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The cup has the London shape. The ground color is a soft pink. There are reserves inside the cup and around the saucer containing colorfully hand painted birds. They are reminiscent of bird decorations done by the Derby factory. They are encased in gilded cartouches. These alternate with segments of intricate gilding. Condition: There is slight wear to the gilding in the well of the saucer and traces of wear around the rim. This cup and saucer is in amazing condition for its age. Both pieces ring when tapped.

The set is made of fine, white bone china. The cup is melon ribbed and blown out. The saucer has a scalloped rim. The ground color is rich cobalt blue. It is decorated with elaborate raised gold decorations. Gilded swags and raised gold beads accent the design. The interior of the cup, well of the saucer and handle are richly gilded. This is truly an product of the “Gilded Age”. Condition: Excellent, with just a trace of wear to gilding, hardly noticeable. Both pieces “ring” when tapped.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Doulton before 1920. The saucer is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. It is decorated with swags of tiny rose buds. The surface of the cup and saucer is covered with tiny pale green enamel beads reminiscent of Coalport. There is gold trim on the handle and rims of each piece. There is some wear to the thin gold band around the bottom of the cup. It is in otherwise excellent condition.

The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. It is decorated with wide bands of heavily embossed gilding. There are borders of hand gilded scroll work with raised beading. It is the epitome of elegance. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1891. The date cipher indicates this year. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of translucent bone china. The cup has a puffy, quatrefoil shape with a handle that looks like rope. The set is decorated with an Imari type pattern taken from the Japanese. Cobalt blue and rust colored red are the main colors in the floral and geometric design. Much gold is used in the decoration and trim. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby before 1906. There are date ciphers for 1904 on the saucer and 1906 on the cup. It would be within the Edwardian period. The saucer has a diameter of 4 7/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The set is made of fine, translucent bone china. There are gilded laurel leaves accented with white raised enamel beads on cobalt blue bands around the rims of each piece. Garlands of green leaves are dotted with tiny pink roses. The decoration is all hand painted. There is even a band of flowers running around the inside rim of the cup. Condition: Excellent

The set has a wonderful scarlet red ground color. It is decorated with embossed gold medallions and gilded swags. The rims have wide embossed gold borders. It is an elegant set that was produced especially for the retailer Davis & Collimore of New York. Condition: The saucer has light crazing in the glaze on the underside. There are no other imperfections. Note: The spots in some of the photos are not imperfections in the cup and saucer but result from the photography.
