This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Richard Klemm Dresden Studio in the 1890s. The saucer measures 6 inches in diameter and the cup is 4 inches high. The cup has a pedestal base and the saucer is contoured with a raised well in the center. The saucer is a platform for the cup. The ground color is blue green. There are tiny pink rose garlands around the saucer and cup. The front of the cup has a reserve containing a portrait of Queen Louise of Prussia who lived in the 1700s. There is a shiny gold frame around the portrait. The green ground is accented with raised gilding giving texture to those areas. I have heard this treatment referred to as “tree bark”. The rims and handle are all heavily gilded. The workmanship is very similar to pieces from Royal Vienna. Condition : Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. It is made of bone china and has molded decorations and an ornate handle. The decoration is known as “Spanish Lace”. Fine gilding is accented with raised enamel beading and hand painted flowers. The pattern covers the entire surface of both pieces. The rims and handle are gilded. It has a unique shape and Victorian charm. Condition: Excellent

The set is made of bone china. The cup features the traditional Worcester ring handle. The set is decorated with alternating bands of gold and yellow. The gold bands contain chains of hand painted chrysanthemums and the yellow bands have ornate gilding. The well of the saucer and interior bottom of the cup have a gilded flower medallion. The border is gilded and the handle is heavily gilded. Asian influence of this period inspired the aesthetic design exemplified in this demitasse cup and saucer. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Hutschenreuther in 1914. It was produced in their Dresden hand painting division. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/8 inches and the cup is 1 ¾ inches high. The cup has an unusual shape with a pedestal base and a hexagonal shape (6 sided). The ground color is deep cobalt blue. There is a reserve on the front of the cup containing a hand painted scene. There is a winged cherub and a fairy. The cherub is writing on a tablet. They are both sitting on a cloud. The scene is surrounded by elaborate hand gilding that is raised and beaded. The saucer has matching gilding and just one little flower in the well. The interior of the cup, handle and rims are trimmed with rich gold. Condition: Excellent

The surfaces of both pieces are covered with fine, lacy gilding with hand painted flowers accenting the design. The borders have a kind of sepia wash tinged with gold. It gives the set an antique effect. Condition: Except for a bit of crazing on the bottom of the saucer, invisible to the naked eye, this set is in excellent condition.

The colors are bright and the hand painting well done. The rim is trimmed with dentil gilding. Condition: Excellent

It is hand painted with realistic flowers in brilliant colors. There is ornate gilding and gilded accents. The gray border is livened up with gilding. Condition: There is some wear to gilding in the border design and slight scuffs to the center gilding.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Coalport in the mid 19th century. It is unmarked, but from the shape of the blank and the type of decoration we can attribute it to Coalport. The plate measures 9 ½ inches in diameter. It has a cobalt blue border that is accented with French enamel. There are sprays of hand painted flowers in bright colors around the center of the plate. A gold medallion is directly in the middle of the plate. There are gilded accents and the rim is trimmed with gold. It is unusual to find this French enamel on a Coalport piece. Condition: There are surface scuffs and scratches on gilding in the center and on some of the trim. It will display well.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1918. The mark indicates this year. It is signed by the artist, F. Roberts. The plate measures 8 ¾ inches in diameter. The plate is made of fine, white bone china. The rim is slightly scalloped. The center of the plate and the border are hand painted with colorful fruits and berries. It has lacy and heavy gold accents. There are 2 plates offered In this listing. You may purchase one or both. Condition: The gold in the center of the plates has some minor scuffing and light scratches.

The set is made of fine hard paste porcelain. Both pieces are hand painted with delicate flowers in bright colors. Little sprigs of flowers are scattered about. Lacy gilding trims the borders. The rims and handle are accented with gold. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris manufacturer in the 1880s. It has a spurious Sevres mark on the bottom. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ¾ inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. There are reserves on the front of the cup and two on the saucer containing hand painted scenes. The front of the cup has a lovely couple in a forest landscape. The saucer has two landscapes with buildings. These scenes are surrounded by embossed gold frames. The handle and trims are trimmed with gold. Condition: The saucer has a tiny bit of rubbing you can hardly see.

This porcelain tea caddy with lid was produced in Germany by Sitzendorf in the 1890s. The tea caddy measures 6 inches high, including the lid and 5 inches across the handles. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The reserve on the front is hand painted with a mischievous looking cupid with his bow and arrows. The painting is finely executed with bright colors and fine detail. The scene is framed in a raised gold cartouche. The back of the caddy has a gilded lyre or harp in raised gold. There are lovely gilded accents and trim. This is a charming accent piece or great find for collectors of tea caddys. Condition: Excellent

This 3 piece porcelain tea set was produced in Austria by Royal Rudolstadt in the 1890s. The pot measures 5 ½ inches high and 4 ¼ inches from the spout to the handle. The cream pitcher is 4 inches high and 3 inches from the spout to the handle. The sugar bowl with lid is 3 ½ inches high and has a diameter of 3 ¼ inches. The 3 pieces all have little feet. They are entirely hand painted and hand gilded. The scenes with cherubs are all artist signed. There is opulent raised gilding and raised enamel beaded accents on all of the pieces. The deep cobalt blue ground provides dramatic contrast to the gilding and painted reserves. Condition: Excellent

This set of 12 porcelain plates was produced in France by Sevres at the Chateau Des Toulleries In 1844. The set has an under glaze mark and 2 over glaze marks containing the date. The plates measure 9 3/8 inches in diameter. The porcelain is very thin and translucent. They bear the monogram of King Louis Phillipe in gold. The cherubs in the centers and the reserves on the borders are all hand painted. The cherubs on each plate are holding different objects and engaged in different activities. The cartouches around the reserves have ornate hand gilding. There is lacy gilding and gold trim around the rims. The contrast of the gold against the cobalt blue borders is striking. Condition: Excellent

These 12 porcelain dinner plates were produced in England by Spode Copelands China in the 1890s. They were produced especially for the high end retailer T. Good & Co. of London. The plates measure 10 ¾ inches in diameter. They are made of fine, white bone china. The set was used for decoration only. They are completely hand painted with floral centers and border reserves. No two plates are the same. Around the borders there are triangular ornaments painted with branches of berries surrounded by fine vermicelli gilding. The gilding around the reserves is raised paste of the highest quality. The gilding is accented with white enamel beads or jewels. The detail and quality of workmanship is astonishing. All of this combined with a vibrant pink ground will make your table or cabinet light up. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain figural group was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory or KPM in 1913. It has a date cipher indicating this year. The piece is signed by Karl Himmelstoss, a modeler who specialized in traditional subject matter. The group measures 9 ½ inches high, 9 inches long and 5 inches wide. The piece weighs over 5 pounds unwrapped. Two women and child from the Spreewald region of Germany, outside of Berlin engage in some juicy gossip. They are dressed in the traditional costumes of this period. The modelling is well done and the piece is nicely balanced. Himmelstoss had a sense of humor with his characters. Just look at the older woman’s expression. She is totally enjoying what she is hearing. There are finely hand painted details to the costumes the three are wearing. If you travel to Spreewald you will probably still see women dressing in this traditional manner. You will find an illustration and description of this figural group on page 135, “Berliner Porzellan vom Jugendstil zum Funktionalismus 1889-1939” from the Brohan Museum. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer or KPM about 1900. It was modelled by the artist Karl Himmelstoss. He specialized in subjects wearing traditional costumes. The figure is 10 ¼ inches high and 7 inches wide. The figure weighs over 4 pounds unpacked. The finest modelling and degree of detail is evident. Folds in the skirt, ruffled collar and sleeves, the wicker texture of the basket, ribbons and headdress show complex detail. Completing the piece is the exquisitely detailed painting of the lady. KPM was known for wonderful hand painted plaques but here is that remarkable painting on a figurine. The traditional costumes worn by the women of the Spreewald region, outside of Berlin, provided interesting subject matter for Himmelstoss and was appreciated by Berliners. It was common to see nurses and nannies wearing this type of clothing in the 19th century. This piece has a dual purpose, as a work of art and preserving historical prospective on the life in Germany. Condition: Excellent first quality
