This porcelain vase was produced in Austria in the 1890s by an unknown decorating studio. The vase is signed by the renowned artist “Wagner” in gold in the painting. It has a beehive marking and is titled “Unsre Lieblinge” or “Our Favorites”. The vase is 6 1/2 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches at its widest point. The vase has a unique shape. A flared mouth that tapers to a narrow neck and then flares out for the body of the vase, and once again tapering to a narrow point where the pedestal base is attached. The center panoramic panel has portraits of 3 adorable little girls. They are expertly hand painted surrounded by flowers and a suggestion of landscape and sky wrapping around the entire piece. A ring of turquoise jewels or raised enamel beads encircles the shoulder of the vase. Sprigs of raised gold flowers are scattered on the pure white porcelain. There are accents of beaded gold trim on the neck and foot. The rim is trimmed with rich gold and lacy beaded gilding. The smiling faces of these charming children is a breath of sunshine. This porcelain plaque or charger was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1900. It was painted by the renowned artist Professor Julius Eduard Braunsdorf who was apprenticed at Meissen 1858. He was a specialist flower painter and art teacher. The plaque is 14 inches in diameter and has a piercing on the foot rim for hanging. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The brightness of the flowers against the dark blue ground makes a dramatic contrast. The roses are painted with expert brushwork with attention to detail. The flowers, leaves and stems show all the stages of the plant life from buds to fading blooms. Notice the droplets of dew on a petal or leaf. It is undeniably the workmanship of a master artist. This porcelain oyster plate was produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges between 1878 and 1889. It is 8 3/4 inches in diameter. It is molded with 5 wells and is often referred to as “a turkey plate” since the shell configuration resembles a turkey’s tail. The plate is decorated with a factory transfer design of sea creatures and sea weed. The decoration is hand colored. The ground color is ivory. This shape is the one that was used for the “White House China” service for President Hayes.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced at Meissen around 1800. It has the first quality under glaze blue crossed swords with a star under it. The saucer is 5 3/8 inches in diameter and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup is 2 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. the ground color is cobalt blue. The cup has a reserve with a portrait of Abelard and the saucer has a portrait of Heloise. There was a story of two lovers in 12th century France, Heloise and Abelard, who were denied permission to marry. They eloped and married against her father’s wishes. Heloise was beaten by her father and sent to live in a convent the rest of her life. It is a sad story portrayed in literature and art. Here is Meissen’s interpretation of the lovers’ tale of woe on porcelain. The exquisite portraits of the man and woman are framed in embossed gold. There are other gold accents and gold trim. This is a true artistic treasure. Condition: Light wear to gilding on rim of cup.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Maunfactory around 1770. The factory used only the under glaze blue scepter marking at that time. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 1/2 inches deep. The cup is 2 inches tall and 3 1/8 inches in diameter. Colorful, hand painted Watteau scenes decorate both pieces. 18th century lovers are spending time in the countryside engrossed in conversation. The borders are decorated with a green fish scale pattern punctuated with a knot of flowers here and there. The handle is accented with a feathering of purple enamel. The rims are trimmed with gold. This is a splendid example of an early KPM tea cup and saucer. Condition: There is slight wear to gilding on rims.

This porcelain casket or box was produced in France by an unknown Paris decorator in the late 19th century. It has a painted marking and is artist signed, P. Roche. The casket measures 9 1/8 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It has gold colored metal frame and hinge. The lid is hand painted with lovers embracing, seated in a landscape of trees, a lake and a building in the background. There is raised, ornate hand gilding framing this scene. The front panel has a large spray of vibrantly colored flowers framed in raised gold. Two side panels have similar flower bouquets. The back panel is richly gilded with elaborate hand gilding. The box is painted inside on all sides with beautiful flowers. There are 4 graceful feet supporting the casket. Condition: There is slight wear to some gilding. It is about 95% intact. The casket is in otherwise excellent condition.

The basket measures 4 1/2 inches long, 3 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The basket is delicately reticulated and has molded rosettes around the border. There are handles in the shape of branches on each side. Hand painted sprigs of flowers and a butterfly are scattered inside the basket. The outside has sprays of tiny flowers. This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by the Carl Thieme Dresden studio in the 1890s. It is 9 3/4 inches in diameter. The porcelain blank is reticulated around the 1 3/4 inch border. There are reserves containing 4 vignettes of lovers in garden landscapes. They alternate with the cut out floral pattern similar to the type Meissen used. The center of the plate has a large Watteau scene with couples in 18th century dress. The painting is done in fine detail and bright colors. There is a gold border surrounding the central scene, dotted with raised turquoise jeweled beading. There are gilded details and gold trim. It is highly unusual to find a Thieme Dresden plate so ornately decorated. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain and silver tea set was produced in Trenton New Jersey, USA, by Lenox between 1906 and 1930. Some of the pieces are marked with the older Lenox Belleek mark. The pot measures 9 inches from the spout to the handle and is 6 inches tall, including the lid. The pot includes a separate tea strainer which inter locks with the lid. The capacity is 30 ounces. The sugar bowl is 5 inches across the handles and 4 inches tall. The cream pitcher is 4 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches from the handle to the spout. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. It holds 4 ounces of tea. The biscuit tray is 8 7/8 inches in diameter. It is 1 1/2 inches high. The porcelain is creamy white with art deco style sterling silver overlay decorations. There are laurel wreathes and squared off line decorations in a clean, elegant fashion. All of the silver is intact and in excellent condition. It appears that the pot, sugar bowl and cream pitcher, biscuit tray and some of the cups and saucers were added at a later time to expand the set. CONDITION: Excellent. This is an assembled set meaning some marks are older and some later. They are all of the same pattern and style. Pd RAT Sell 1795.

The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 7/8 inches. The porcelain is the highest quality made for centuries in the western hemisphere. It is hand painted with an Asian inspired design called “Royal Court Yellow Tiger”. It is a very colorful ornate pattern, painstakenly hand painted. The rims and handle are accented with gold.
