Rare and beautiful Japanese Kuruma tansu (storage chest on wheels), made of keyaki (elm) wood with original finish, iron hardware, interior has shelf and three small safe drawers, Edo Period (early 19th century). Beautiful Victorian two-weight wall clock of burled walnut trimmed in black. Has second hand, and chimes on hour and half hour. This lovely clock measures 17 1/2" wide x 53" tall and is in perfect working condition.

Impressive large-scale Black Forest carved armchair in walnut with all over carved decoration of bark, branches, leaves and berries. Swiss. Circa 1870-1880. * Provenance: Anniee McCarthy, Newport, RI and NYC (label). Minor loss to tips of leaves on crestrail, caned seat was once over upholstered.

From our European Collection, a good and substantial pair of Continental hand-carved black walnut chairs, 19th century, featuring claw feet and floral motifs carved in deep relief. The seat cushions are a mustard / gold colored silk and are either original, or later 19th / early 20th century replacements.

Size and Condition: 36 inches tall, 19 inches wide.

This very unusual table measures 52" square when closed, and has four leaves, each measuring 11 1/2" wide, bringing the table to 98" long when full extended. There is a center leg for support. The base has huge paws with decoration on the pedestal. It is in perfect condition.

This screen is carved from top to bottom in every possible place. It has faces, flowers, lion feet, berries and more. The red panels in the back can be easily changed, so it can be made to go with any decor. The two outside panels are each 22" wide x 65" tall, and the center panel is 20" wide x 65". Not only is this a beautiful screen, but it would make a wonderful one of a kind headboard also. It is in great original condition.

A very high quality mahogany drop leaf table with turned legs and stretchers with a shaped apron at either end. The three boards, one for the top and one for each leaf are well matched single boards. Excellent proportion and a nice small size. 27 ½ tall X 28 ¾ long X 11 ½ wide in inches. With the leaves up 31 ½ inches wide.

Condition; minor repairs including the replacement of one of the feet. There is an old breakout at one of the joints...

Circa 1820 English, this charming tortoise shell sewing box having zig zag patterned string inlay can also be used as a jewelry box. The interior has fitted tray which still has its original compartment lids and the tray removes to reveal another compartment. In very good antique condition, it measures 10” across, 6.75” deep, 3” high.

This attractively proportioned games table is a form famously produced in the Salem, Massachusetts area at the beginning of the 19th Century. The serpentine form with ovolo corners, coupled with richly carved foliate and reeded legs, is a motif used by those cabinetmakers and carvers associated with the successful workshop of Samuel Field McIntire (1757-1811). This is a Austrian rural style chest, a so called carved " Bauerntruhe " from Styria. Softwood ( pine needle wood ) This piece from about 1750 originaly was only to open from upwards. To make this nice piece more useable for everydays use, there recentely was made 2 doors into the front side of the chest. These 2 doors are not visible, when they are closed. Nice restored condition ! H : 33,5 inc. L : 55,5 inc. Deep : 21,5 inc.
