DESCRIPTION: An unusual and quite old (18th C.) copper box toggle in the form of a peach, the Chinese symbol of longevity. Probably used as both a toggle and tobacco container, the two halves have a tightly fitting overlapping seal, with two loops forming the hinge at the stem point. This large solid copper toggle has a rich, aged patina and is in fine condition with minor signs of wear, as to be expected. Antique Chinese Guan Style Ware Plate. Shallow bowl form with decorative foliate rim. Pale celadon glaze with traditional and highly prized crackle. The foot on the underside has been left unglazed but the inset area of the bottom is treated with the same pale celadon crackle glaze.

The bronze body absolutely delightful casted and additionally incised even in the smallest details. The beast modelled with a fierce expression portrayed by bulging eyes and bared teeth, with long curled mane and horns. The tail elegantly curved and detailed with finely incised lines. 18th century or earlier Chinese carved marble head of the Buddha. Superb carving, extraordinary beatific face with a slight smile. Wonderful finish to the surface, great feel of age. Pleasantly heavy, comes with very well made hardwood stand. Marble height 7.5 inches, height with stand 10 inches.

A Chinese export Imari dish, Kangxi period, early 18th century. Fluted sides and decoration of peony and chrysanthemum in iron red and gilt over under-glaze blue. Diameter "10/ 25,5 cm. Condition: rim frits, a hairline and a 3 cm restoration to the rim (cf. pictures).

From our Chinese Polychrome Collection, a good Kangxi Period (1662-1722) flower basket plate executed in soft famille verte enamels. The flower basket motif is generally associated with symbolizing longevity and abundance, but sometimes its association with one of the most enigmatic and eccentric of the Eight Immortals, Lan Caihe, is overlooked. Lan Caihe was actually the patron saint of florists whose distinguishing attribute is the flower basket...

Cast bronze incense burner. Rectangular shape, 4 feet, decoration of sacred pearls framed by stylized dragons, Greek friezes. Each of the feet comes out of the mouth of a Buddhist lion. The walls are very thick, the object is heavy. Lost wax casting has defects. The carving is not of high quality. No mark. However, this incense burner is powerful and has a very beautiful old patina, which makes it a venerable object with a strong presence. Probably Chinese work. Period 18th century or earlier...
