A fine Chinese bronze Gu, beaker, form flower vase of elegant elongated form cast with geometric, principally leiwen patterns, with zoomorpihic elements based on a Shang precedent. The design here largely adapted from examples to be found in the famous Song catalogue “Xuanhe Bogu Tu”, notably one example with two opposing worm like creatures incorporated in the central band of decoration. Geyao cup in a very nice Song Dynasty inspired shape. Seventeenth century. The brown clay to the base seems to be the original grey stoneware which turned to a dark brown during the firing process. It seems not just to be a brown slip which covers the unglazed body to the base which would be typical for Qing pieces their intention it is to pretend a Song Dynasty piece. Diameter : 5 cm. H : 3,6 cm. Condition : One restored chip.

Diameter approximately 38 cm. Few soft chips at the rim. Soft frits at the rim. There are some enamel missing. Addition of enamel can be done. A hairline at the rim. In good condition.

This piece was made at the southern China in last Ming period, exported to Japan and transmitted from generation to generation there. The pattern with "Looking back rabbit" was very popular. Unfortunately, the wooden box was lost. Certification: written by Noriki Shimazu the famous researcher for Asian antiques in Japan.

A excellent potted shape, a excellent glaze and Cobalt blue, a excellent execution of the decoration - this dish is definitely done in an Imperial quality. Ming Chenghua mark but Qing Dynasty, probably of the Kangxi Period ( 1662 - 1722 ) There are also Daoguang dishes with a quite similar Dragon design but if this piece would be a Daoguang dish it most probably would bear a Daoguang mark. Kangxi pieces often are marked with a Ming Quenghua mark - thus the Chenghua Mark on this dish together ...

A fine and rare 'Transitional' double gourd vase, delicately painted in underglaze blue, depicting two scholars at leisure in a garden. The neck is decorated with styalized tulips. This item was made circa 1640 during the reign of the Chongzhen Emperor (1628 to 1644). Condition - there are museum style gold leaf repairs to the top and there is a kiln iron spot on the lapet border to the waist of the vase...

A 17th/18th Century jar (without cover) painted in under glaze blue with two Qilin (each standing amongst cloud scrolls and flames) reserved against a prunus blossom / "cracked ice" ground. This item was made in China during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 12.7cm (5 inches) high.

Late Ming Dynasty, ca. 1600

Glazed with turquoise, amber and green enamels, this laughing Buddha holds his large belly with one hand, and clasps a rosary in the other. The back is unglazed and a stabilized hairline extends from the foot to the top of the base. There is a collection inventory number incised on the rear base and there is a small chip to the foot. It is accompanied by a later carved wooden base.

Beautiful Chinese fragment of a dragon robe, Kangxi period, Qing dynasty. Decorated with 3 five-clawed dragons. A front faced dragon located at the chest area while the other two dragons holding fire pearl looking upward and flying above the sea waves.
