A late Ming - Transitional Wanli - Tiangqi blue and white large jar, rounded side with globular body and glazed base, jar decorated with good underglaze blue of bird butterfly flower and landscape motif, jar is in good condition no damage no chip no crack no restoration, small glaze fritt at the rim, size: 22.5 cm height.

Wonderful Chinese Yixing box with crayfish on lid, cylindrical body with seal on bottom, round lid is made of black clay with highly raised red yixing crayfish, beautiful detail and large imperial mark with writing on the inside of lid. Size: 3 1/2" high x 4 3/4" wide diameter.

Qianlong mark, but probably early 1900s

This baluster-shaped vase is well-potted and rather stout and heavy. Two elephant head handles, in imitation of a bronze form, adorn the sides of the neck. The exterior is covered overall in a puce colored glaze over which a bird, flower, and landscape scene is very finely painted in raised enamels in various colors. Enamel shading is employed throughout the scene and is particularly effective on the flowers...

Head of Buddha, its face with eyes almost closed reflecting a profound inner serenity. Wood, with numerous layers of polychrome pigments, lacquering and gilding. China, early 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 32 cm. The head is not mounted. Some flaking, otherwise very good condition.

This Chinese pink glazed vase is a mid 19th century product. The entire body is covered with a soft rosy pink glaze, commonly called du Barry rouge. The Chinese name for the shape of this kind of vase is “Tian Qiu Vase” 天 球 瓶. It is 8” high and 5” wide measured from the widest part. It has an honorable “Yong Zhong” 雍 正 (1723~1735) mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition. More detailed photos are available.

Japanese antique case iron tetsubin (iron pot for heating water for tea), beautiful subtle round form, bronze handle and lid, copper finial on lid with leaf motif. Size: 9" high (5" high not including handle) x 7" wide including spout.

Chinese porcelain rice bowl with a matching footed lid, decorated with red snarling dragons, surrounded by pink and blue puffs of smoke and red embers. The lid's top has pink flowers with pretty twisting vines, and around the bottom of the bowl is a blue-green wave pattern. The lid and bowl have marks that read "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" (1875-1908). 19th/early 20th century Size: 3.5" height, 6" width

A very rare “mark and period” wucai dish dating to the late Ming period and the reign of the Emperor Tianqi decorated with the Chinese literati subject of the scholar Wang Xizhi standing beneath a Willow tree observing a flock of Geese in flight. Wang Zhi was a noted Chinese scholar and calligraphy master, known as the Sage of Calligraphy, who lived during the Jin Dynasty...

Set of two (2) Chinese porcelain tea cups decorated with blue linear designs and flowers in shades of red, blue, and greenish yellow with long stems and pretty green leaves. The inside bottom of each cup has an orange flower between two yellow flowers within a blue ring. Mark on bottom reads "Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi" or "Great Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period, Made". Chinese blanc de chine porcelain statue of Quan Yin, the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. Her name is short for Guanshiyin, meaning "Observing the Cries of the World." She stands upon strong, rolling winds and holds a lotus flower in her left hand. The statue is hollow and is pierced through her ears, eyes, and nostrils. 18th/19th Century Size: 12" height, 4.5" width

Burmese painting done on a large, cloth canvas, likely depicting the Jataka tales, or stories of Buddha, with nine separate panels, each depicting a different tale of Buddha's previous lives. The very center painting shows Buddha sitting in a lotus position with two attendants at his sides, their hands clasped in prayer to him, and it is the only panel that does not have any Burmese script in white paint...

The saddle seat is Leather and decorated with small tuffs of wool yarn and strips of flat metal (presumed low grade silver) which are embed into the leather in an ornate geometric design.

I replaced the tie which secured the front of the seat to the metal saddle tree...the original cord was literally falling apart...Limited research indicates this saddle was from Rajastan India.
