A wonderful Chinese hand painted landscape painting on paper, this painting exhibits the typical soft colors and realism of atmosphere and micro detailing that reflects the artistry of the 19th century, study the mountains and the Buddhist temple in relation to the airy open space, just fantastic! This very well carved white jade (nephrite) Lohan (Arhat) is an early 20th century product. It depicts a Lohan sitting on a rock, his left hand holds a wood stick he is using to clean his ear; his right arm is resting on the rock. The impression on his face is just interesting and realistic. It is 6 ¼” high, 5 ¾” wide and 3 ½” thick. Aside from natural blemishes, it is in great condition.

Simple elegance is how we describe this late 19th C. turquoise Noya ware bowl. Good and strong vibrant colors of flowers with auspicious symbols, this bowl has very little wear and is in excellent shape without any chips, cracks, hairlines, and free from any restoration. A very good late Ming seal paste box. In excellent condition apart from the usual wear of abrasive scratches, it has good glaze and is petit. Size is 1.75 inches in diameter and x 1.75" high.

A very beautiful and finely potted ewer of gourd shaped from the Song dynsty.

Very good condition. No restoration, chip, crack or hairline. Because of one of the small stone pit standing on the base, it does not stand totaly flat. However this does not affect the beauty and aesthetic shaped of the gourd shaped ewer. Nice gloss and colour.

This is a fine early Japanese Satsuma vase. It was made before 1900 and is one of the better examples I have seen from this artist.. The enamel work and relief dragon are done very well. The vase is interesting and has a lot of character. It is very heavy and in very good condition. The only real flaw is a broken horn on the dragon which is a common occurrence with these pieces. This can be fixed fairly easily and I could arrange for this small repair for the buyer. Stands 9 1/2 inches tall.

Simple elegance envelops this wonderful late Meiji Period C.1910 bronze 'koro' crane incense burner. The piece has two parts; the top consisting of the crane's feathers and head, and the bottom which contains the ash. On the underside of the bottom in relief are the crane's legs tucked under. Dr Fu Qing Zhu "published" his book on Women's Health Issues in 1816. Originally hand copied until the 1860's, publications after that were made using hand carved woodblocks. This particular copy appears to be from 1885. It has all 4 volumes and the original cloth binding cover. There are hand written prescriptions on the front of 2 volumes...

An ancient stone beast was in nice mood.
In twisted body posture, the beast or dragon with bulging eyes, wide mouth and extruding fangs was supposed a peaceful animal by the pattern on his back, a swirling TaiChi cloud.
The sculpture was well preserved except the abrasions down under due to age.
