Delightful antique Japanese tansu made of Kiri wood. This small symmetrical tansu has 6 drawers of various sizes and safe box in lower right hand corner and two small interior drawers. A Kushan gold necklace delicately strung with very small ancient lapis lazuli beads (approximately 24 beads to an inch). There are 12 gold coins with images of 6 ancient kings - six on each side. There are 2 kings that we recognize - one is Vasudeva I, the other is "Ohsho" holding an elephant goad, thunderbolts, a trident and a goat. The center bead is a oblong fluted gold bead. There are also two blue glass beads flanking the central gold bead.

This Chinese early 19th century blue and white plate is 8” in diameter and 2” high. It depicts a fruit with leaves in the center; a floral design covers the side and the back. Aside from some blemishes due to the firing and three small chips on the back rim, it is in fairly good condition.

This Chinese carved bamboo brush rest has traditional dragons chasing pearl and cloud motif. The background shape is the 5 mountains and the rim of the mountains have carved ridges. The piece measures 3.5 inches high and 6 inches across. The natural curve of the bamboo allows the piece to stay upright, and the piece remains balanced on the 1/2 inch thick bamboo. Condition is very good.
