18th century kokutan (ebony) netsuke of a shishi (Buddhist lion) crouching by rockery. Strong early carving, nicely captured playful attitude of the beast, unusual raised umbrella-like bushy tail. Large deep himotoshi, great patina with characteristic ebony sheen. Length 1 7/16 inches.

A gorgeous Japanese brazier with excellent high quality enamel work, this treasure is contrasted in color from the dark silvered with areas of gold lid and the bronzed tone copper base, making it a visual treat. Dated to the late 19th century this can still used for fragrant dried flowers on a desk top or table. It measures 6.5" diameter x 5.5" high.

19th C. Japanese Meiji period Cloisonne Vase, Ca. 1880, colorful flower branches on the turquoise color enamel background with silver wire, 7 1/4" high, 3 1/8" wide-widest part, silver bottom and top rim, green enamel work inside the vase near the top and bottom. The condition is good, no damages.
