Antique hakama (trousers) worn by a Noh theatre actor. Decorated all over with a design of gold dragons and lattice work on a dark blue ground. Traditional squared form with pleating and wide white cotton ties. These hakama would have been part of the Noh theatre ôguchi (costume).

Authentic ancient Imperial Roman terracotta oil lamp, 1st-early 2nd century A.D. The lamp has a central discus that bears a molded head of Medusa. The filling hole is located below the discus and is surrounded by three raised encircling bands. The lamp has an elaborate long nozzle adorned with volutes and pierced with a wick-hole mouth. A set of Burmese amulets in lacquered wood and gilded with gold leaf.

This 19th century nephrite carving of a fisherman is 3 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 1 ¾” thick. It depicts an old smiling fisherman. His right hand is holding a mulberry branch; his left hand is holding his beard. His straw hat is hanging on his back. He has two fish tied to the ends of the branch and is attempting to put them into a basket at his feet. It is in great condition.

A sparse image of tiny boats, sails stretched with wind floating out off the coast by Shirakura Niho enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Enko Hobari (Sails Stretched in the Distant Harbor). Pigment on silk bordered in patterned cloth extended in beige. The scroll is 65.5 x 132.5 cm (25-3/4 x 52 inches). There is some toning to the silk typical of age, but is in overall fine condition...
