This is a stunning example of an early Edo period Japanese Katana. The pictures can never do justice to the breathtaking beauty of this fine work of art. This Katana dates to around 1620 AD and is in remarkable condition. The tang is inscribed on both sides. There are no visible flaws. This 18th century Samurai stirrup has intricate overall floral pattern with inlaid silver wire which is somewhat obscured by tarnish. The raised footpad is red Lacquer and has wear mark in the toe area. There is a small break (and hole) in near the rim of the foot pad, which are commsurate with age and use of a Japanese warriors stirrup.

This antique Dhokra depicts a large fish being ridden by 2 women and is probably representing some tribal legend or myth. Dhokras were made by the Kondh tribe of the state of Orissa India. The Dhokra, or small sculptures, were made as toys, ritual objects as well as gifts and talismans. They were much a part of tribal craftsmanship and culture during the 1700's and 1800's. Dhokras were made from a clay base with a net-like pattern and then cast in bronze using the lost wax technique...

Brown stoneware with white inclusions and a green splash of natural ash glaze. Slightly widening from bottom to shoulder, with a short more or less straight neck with everting lip.

This is a charming stoneware Japanese bowl censor from 1750. It fits perfectly into the hand carved wooden stand which was probably made for the incense burner around 1900. There are no makers marks on either the bowl on the stand for identification. Covered with a thick matte gray white glaze with iron flecks and decorated solely with 3 button tabs below the rim, the censor is a wonderful early example of Japanese mingei stoneware ceramics.
A well modelled finely cast and carved seated bronze Buddha, with very dark old patination, made in Kandy (central Sri Lanka) during either the 18th or 19th Century. There is a very similarly styled figure currently on display on the ground floor of the Victoria and Albert Museum (London): No. IS.127-1964 (Given by Havelock Pinkey).
Condition: excellent - no damages or losses and no repairs or restoration. Only traces of the original gilding remain...

This Indo-Persian antique silver repousse lidded container box was probably intended for cosmetics. The elaborate design work is flawless and the attention to detail were hallmarks of luxury items made during the late 19th century in both India and Persia. There are 2 makers marks and some scratches on the bottom of the box. See picture

Chinese pair of moon viewing chairs, made of huang-huali hardwood with dramatic grain. Carved in faux bamboo. Each chair handcrafted for a comfortable reclining position and matched with a slide out foot rest. The joints show sign of shrinkage and patina of its age and condition.

Cedar wooden ‘post-hide’ or hashira-kakushi that is used as a decoration of one of the posts in a room, or a horizontal post of the tokonoma (niche). The post-hide is the same width as the pillar posts in a Japanese house, hiding it thus almost completely in width.
Cedar wood, the front stained dark brown and decorated in mineral with a dragon. Seal on either end of the plaque. Inscription in black ink on the back...

Noh Mask (noh-men), Hanakobu Akujyo (Akujou), bumpy nosed fierce old man. Besides the distinctive nose, he has a deep V-shaped crease between his eyebrows and the veins on his temples to his forehead, piercing bulging eyes, teeth painted in gold, with a tan colored horsehair beard and mustache. Not an ordinary face of an old man, he appears to possess something supernatural. This men(mask) is very lightweight. Written on the reverse side is "Hana kobu Aku jyo" in gold...
