This antique cast iron 2 piece censer retains much of its original red paint. The inside bottom of the censor bowl is somewhat pitted from use. The chop marks are unrecogizable. The piece is 10 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches high.

Two pieces of very nice and symbolic shard from the Ming dynasty. The first shard to the left, has a coin design in the centre of the bowl with the lotus lappet surrounding it. The second shard, to the right, shows a lotus flower in full bloom. The lotus is considered a scared flower to the buddhist - a symbol of purity and perfection. In general it is a symbol of summer and fruitfullness...

A nice piece of qingpai bowl shard. It has a high foot rim with recess base and a U-shaped body with an everted mouth rim. The body is lightly incised with slanted lines. A character, which is not very clear is painted in the centre of the foot rim.

This is a fine old Japanese Porcelain vase from a rare Artist. The vase is very heavy and it stands 12 inches tall. The vase is decorated in underglaze blues and reds much like some of the Makuzu Kozan Pieces. There is an unknown impressed signature on the bottom. Maybe someone in Japan will recognize the signature of this fine studio artist. The vase was once a lamp and the hole has been nicely restored.

This rare Edo period antique Japanese round box has 3 tiers, lid and plate. There is a column of small Gosan kiri family crests down one side and another column of small family crests on the other side. The inside is of each piece is red orange lacquer. The box fits into the rim of a plate which was use for serving. The gold lacquer paintings designs are all very fine.

Glazed with a clear glaze of slight greenish tone over a buff porcelanous stoneware body. It rests on a medium-tall footring with a base that is carved in the Song manner to a subtle point at its center. The interior has a carved rib design that is partially obscured by the glaze. An unglazed ring, exposing the greyish buff paste encircles the interior of the base. The bowl is in very good condition with no restorations, chips or cracks...

This is a small shard bowl with the Tibetan lanca charcters or scripts. In the center of the bowl, it has a single large lanca character. All around the cavetto and on the outside of the bowl, it is covered all round with the same script lanca characters. At the back of the recess foot rim, it shows an embalm of a mace with ribbons. The fabric is thick, silver brocade that appears to be taken from a Japanese woman's old obi from late Edo period. The liner is cotton. During the Edo period (1602-1868), there was a custom that the family of a deceased woman would donate her favorite kimono to the temple; some beautiful temple cloths were created from those wonderful fabrics. It stands on a short recessed base and then everted upward to a bulbous body, with a sligltly sloping shoulder and the a short slanted neck towards a bowl like mouth rim. Description:

A bronze censer's cap was well cast and was exquisitely carved with beautiful motifs.
On top there's a lion's head with bulging eyes, fiercing fangs and well defined hairs.
At the lower portion, the spiral clouds were above the sea waves.

Under the cap, the molding clay was still reserved for verifying.

It was a fine piece for verifying the excellency of the ancient metal work. The golden metal sheen was an evidence for its fine quality too.

A lovely pair of Hoi An Shipwreck Annamese bowls dating to the 15th century. They are excellent condition, save for the glaze that is matte. They measure 4.5" wide and 3" high.

Large bowl with scenery of a "Long Elisa" and a servant in a garden scene. Inside the bowl four different flower sprays. Very nice composition.
