Antique Japanese Bizen ware ceramic sculpture of a pair of puppies. Each beautifully sculpted with charming features. Bizen ware pottery is made of the reddish brown clay with high iron content that is found in the area around the village of Imbe in Bizen province. Fine signature on base.

Eros holds a pointed amphora with a stippled ribbon/garland hanging around the vessel’s shoulder. The ends of the ribbon run down the young god’s back. The stumps on the back belong to the missing wings.

An interesting and very finely made massive opium weight, Late Shan, 19th./20th. cent.

Peculia weight or figure in the general shape of a 'Kissing bird' of the Shan Burma, but with some added features in the form of fine engravings and a handle.

The figure comes from a very good old collection and is in our opinion genuine old and antique. It weighs around 700-750 grams and was likely made in the very end of the period with opium weights as a unofficial decorative piece...

Large Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider with Oxford TL Test

This impressive pottery horse and rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery and is quite "heavily-potted". It has been cold-painted in various coloured pigments, good traces of which still remain. The horse stands upright and alert with its head and neck turned very slightly to its left...

Coral red tea bowl and saucer, the bowl with rocky landscapes in blue, green and black in reserves, the saucer with the same decoration depicted on a paper scroll. The black lines are hand painted like the rest, so probably Chinese, Jiaqing period. The lotus scroll work on the tea bowl with traces of silver, now oxidized. Fine cowrie shell necklace from northwest Burma, probably Naga on a hand woven macramé cotton cord. 1900's White Jade Carved Pendant Loop Ring Silver Filigree Necklace

It is 27.75 inches (70.5 cm) in circumference by 16.45 inches (41.8 cm) in length. The pendant is 2.15 inches (5.5 cm) in diameter by 0.15 inch (0.4 cm) thick. The jade ring is 14.6 mm- 17.6mm diameter. The silver bead is 10.3 mm- 15.3 mm. It is 43.9 gram.

It is tarnished and has inclusions at jade and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Excellent painted work of Okuda Mokuhaku (1800–1871) who is known as the reviver of the Akahada ware traditions during the late Edo and the early Meiji periods.

Mokuhaku Okuda, a wealthy merchant, was also a notable tea master of the nearby city of Koriyama, worked in the Akahada kiln in the mid 1800`s. His work involved various utensils and tea ceremony installments.

Fine old Burma lacquerware box. This piece is quite rare in that it is a complete set with three compartments on top and one shallow “hidden” compartment in the base. There is an old repair on the cracquelure on the lid as well as some traditional restoration on the undecorated portions. This is an early 20th century piece (possibly 19th century) from the Gadu-Ganan region, Shan State. D: 16.cm/6.2in and W: 16cm/6.2in.

Old hand carved wooden ink pad box circa first half 20th century. I think this is probably a Yao item, but as I purchased it in a Bai ethnic minority market in Yunnan, over 20 years ago, we’ll assume it is Bai. This has a floral pattern carved on the lid. The ink has long ago dried up. Nice natural patina. L: 7.2cm/2.9in x W: 5.8cm/2.3in x H: 3.2cm/1.3in.
