A nephrite Jian Ge(an accessory between the sword blade and the handle)decorated with Chi Longs. I am not sure about the date of this, but believe that it should be Qing or earlier. It looks like it was burned for some reason, caused some dark area on it. There are a couple of chips on it too, please refer to the photos for the details of condition. Length: 2"; Height:1".

The even-toned stone is somewhat translucent and carves on both sides with a flower basket design. It is reticulated with rather simple carving and incising to produce a dense and almost abstract design. The condition is very good with no chips or breaks. There is a natural fissure occurring in the top of the basket in the center of the stone.

This is a very beautifully carved floriform shaped head incised with a “Shou” character in the centrer and suround by floral petals and Ruyi form, the smooth curving stem, of a white nephrite hair pin in very fine quality.

A Chinese nephrite pendant in shape of a qilong. The stone of greyish white tone with dark grey flecks and streaks. Qing Dynasty. The pendant is in excellent condition. Dimensions: 2-3/16" X 3/4". Wood stand is not included.
Beautifully carved nephrite bowl with a bird and pond like vegetation. It measures 4.5" wide by 1.5" tall. Beautiful scrolling vine with flowers and leaves envelopes the bowl.
Hard stone cup, probably Jadeite. The more or less pale nuanced ocher colored stone is stained with a pretty green and veined with rust. The cut is very thin which required good control. Uneven grinding and a soft sheen suggest that this cut is ancient, difficult to date with certainty. Chinese work from the 19th century or before.

Carved on one side is an old gnarled pine tree growing out of a rocky outcrop. The vase is of a flattened ovoid shape with a rectangular foot that is hollowed to the base. The stone has a white jade-like quality, but is probably a type of serpentine. The tree is carved in high relief with some under-carving, giving it a feeling of being carved almost in the round. The stone is flecked with silvery inclusions and very light brownish veining in a few places...

19th century Chinese jade banana leaf, 6 ¾ inches long and 2 ½ inches at widest spot on a carved/fitted wood stand. There is a loose ring on the stalk. It is carved so thin it is almost translucent. There is a small chip on the stand. Excellent condition.
This late 19th century Chinese white jade (nephrite) dragon head shape buckle is 3 inches long, ¾ inch wide and ¾ inch thick. There are a few small chips and flaw on the side of the body.

Carved from a jade-like hardstone (possibly serpentine). Rectangular form with a slightly raised grinding surface bordered by a narrow, raised perimeter with a carved depression for water at the top end. Very good condition with no cracks. There is some wear to the grinding surface and to the base. Old patina with old light soiling.

A Han style (maybe of the period) white jade cicada in simple design and carved with clean lines showing superior craftsmanship. We date it Qing Dynasty or earlier, but it was probably from Han Dynasty. Condition: there are some calcification on the tip of the wings, which caused some tiny chips; some age veins on the lower part of the cicada (please see photo #4 and #5 for details). Length: 7 cm; width: 3.5 cm.
This late 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining camel and foreign grooms is 2 ¾” high, 4 ¼” long and 2” thick. It depicts a reclining camel turning its head to the three grooms; one is climbing on the camel’s hump while the other two are leaning on its side. It is in great condition.
Chinese tianhuang stone seals with calligraphy and landscape decoration and carved boar on the top, nineteenth century China; marked. Dimensions: Height of the seal carving is 3 inches with width of 2 inches and depth of 1 1/8 inches. Condition Report: Great condition.

The stone is a creamy tone with pale russet flecking mainly seen on the back. A darker brown veining can be seen on the lower leg. It is carved overall, including the underneath showing one leg folded under. The polish is an even soft gloss like that produced from years of handling. Good condition, with no chips or restorations.

A Very Fine Chinese White Jade Handle/Mirror Back Hand Held Mirror:

This is a late 19th century nephrite carving. It depicts a reclined lioness turning her head back to watch her baby trying to climb on her back. It is 1 ½” high, 2 ¾” long and 1 ¼” wide. It is in great condition.
This rectangular grayish jade (nephrite) plaque is 1 ¾” long, 2 3/4” wide and 3/16” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It is carved as a dragon in the center, two flower blossoms and two leaves are on the four corners and a curly pattern swirls around the dragon. Though it is a thin piece, it was carved very skillfully and carefully into a two layered object. Aside from a tiny chip on one side, it is in great condition.

19th century nephrite carving of a bearded Zhong-Kui (ghost eater). His right hand is holding a fan; his left hand is raised up holding his hat. Under his left foot is a demon begging for his life. The body is formed by a fairly thinly turned jade tube that is fitted with a turned hardwood plug for the base. The wooden bottom is visible on the interior base of the jade tube and it is turned to form a stand that compliments the simplicity of the jade form. This small 19th century Chinese carved nephrite cup is 3 ¼” long 1 ½” high and 1 ¾’ on its widest part. The cup was carved to look like an old bronze vessel. A dragon (or beast) head is carved on the top of the handle and belt like “Ru Ding” design encompasses the entire body. Aside a tiny indentation on its rim, it is in great condition.

The stone is of a mottled celadon to a pale creamy tone. The interior well appears to have originally been covered in lacquer, with some remnants still visible. The stone retains a soft polish and patina from handling. The round base is slightly raised and the piece fits very very nicely in the hand. Good condition, no chips or cracks.

A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. Intricate, flowing spiral decoration covers the dragon's body and the disc. The piece measures 3-3/4" end to end and is, as best I can tell, made entirely without the use of modern cutting tools. This late 19th century very well carved nephrite of a sage riding a horse is 9 inches high (with wood base is 10 ½ inches high), 8 ½ inches long and 4 ½ inches thick. It depicts an old sage holding a lantern while riding a horse. Though the nephrite has some natural blemishes, it is quite an eye catching piece. It is in great condition.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade Pi. The piece is 2 ¼ inches in diameter and 5/16 inches thick. A pinhead (Gu) design is on one side; the other side has a five scroll design. The carved wood stand has six round vase shaped corners. There is a tiny chip on the rim of the jade and a small piece is missing on the curve of the stand. It is in good condition.
This carved reticulate nephrite is 6 ½ inches long, 2 ½ inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick. It has a traditional Chinese motif which includes a dragon, flowers, a vine and characters. The meaning of these four characters is ¡°celebrating happy events and long life¡±. The workmanship is just wonderful. It was carved in two layers which makes it even more interesting. There are a few small chips on the sides. It is in good condition.

A rare and unusual archaic style Jade carving in the form of a "double bird" You. There is a late Shang dynasty bronze You of similar form, described as a Xiao You (Owl You) in the collection of Shanxi Museum, Shanxi Province. This item was exhibited in the Royal Academy, 1973, and can be seen on page 72 of "The Genius of China" (ISBN 0 7230 0107 3).
