This specimen is a piece of grey-ware pottery from ancient China.It likely dates to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). It appears to be intact and un-repaired. It has soil encrustations and traces of root fibers all along the surface. This is an outstanding relic of ancient Chinese culture. Large for its type, It measures just under 21 cm in height. Authentic ancient Chinese artifacts are becoming nearly impossible to find. Take advantage of this piece at a "pre-ban" price.

A large and high quality Ming Dynasty pottery figure of a warrior probably an officer, dating to 1368-1644.

The figure with many fine details. A high helmet with decorations, the harness is covered with dark blue and tourqouise colors. Note the lions on the shoulder and the stomach belt. He is wearing a grenade in his hand. Pigmented colors in red, white, black of which much remains.

The lower band has alternating patterns of lotus flowers and lotus leaves. There are two lion masks at opposite sides at the shoulder. The vase is covered in a light olive-grey glaze. Tang authentic pottery plate with a sancai-glazed inner and outer rim. The alternating and flowing green and ochre/brown glazes give beauty to the simple form of the plate. Under magnification, the glaze shows very fine crackle and the edge of the glaze is iridescent.
