An antique statue of Li Tieguai resting with one foot on a crutch and holding a gourd, carved from a large bamboo piece with nice patina. One of the eight immortals of the Chinese Taoist pantheon. A intricately done Chinese fencai with motif of dragons scrolling vines, and peonies. Fine brushes made from different materials with caps to cover the tip were often part of a scholar literati's desk and were called the four treasures of the scholar's studio. The end of the brush contains a seal script mark, reading Da qing Jiaqing nian xing. Age: 19th-20th century Size: length 19" diameter 0.3"

DESCRIPTION: A large and masterfully carved Chinese shou shan stone (soapstone) seal in tall rectangular form, the knob carved with a crouching dragon having both wings tucked back covering its sides, and whose mouth is poised to grasp the sacred pearl. On each flat surface of the base are engraved inscriptions and characters among idyllic scenes of rivers with boats, hills, houses and pavilions. The bottom seal characters leave a positive (red) impression...
This pair of Chinese archer rings with wood stands and caps is a product of late 19th century. They are 1 3/16” high (the darker one is a little shorter), 1 3/8” in diameter and a quarter of an inch thick. They are 2 ½” high with the carved wood stands and caps. The two knobs are made from natural red coral. They are in excellent condition and look great on a scholar’s desk.

A pair of bronze mirrors was intriguingly set into one piece.
As in a hidden look, the erotic motifs were only revealed when turning over the bronze plates.
They were well cast in solid form and were preserved in a latter-lade linen wood box.

This middle 19th century pale green with red over glaze brush washer has icy crackles covering the entire body. There are a few chips on the bottom from firing. It is 4 inches in diameter and
1 ¼ inches high. Very good condition.
A rare and finely carved boxwood tobacco box that could be hung from a man's belt. The lid carved with a 3-dimansional pair of Fo dogs, the sides with floral carvings with a bird and a deer. The opening where once the rope was attached, is in the shape of two bats.

This Chinese carved bamboo brush rest has traditional dragons chasing pearl and cloud motif. The background shape is the 5 mountains and the rim of the mountains have carved ridges. The piece measures 3.5 inches high and 6 inches across. The natural curve of the bamboo allows the piece to stay upright, and the piece remains balanced on the 1/2 inch thick bamboo. Condition is very good.

Stand by four angle-shaped feet, the water basin was decorated on the upper portion with the geometric patterns.
On the underside, there'e ancient archaic characters being inscribed.
These archaic characters were Xiao Zhuan which were being used in Warring States of 481-221BC.
In Song dynasty, the connoisseurs admired the ancient cultures and would used the utensils which owned the archaic moods...
This pair of enameled glass brush holders carries a wild geese and grass design. They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. They came in blue brocade fitted boxes. Both have a ¡°Qian Long¡± (1736~1795) mark on the bottom. Near the date mark there is a red wax seal which indicates they were exported from mainland China. The color and the design are great. Both are in perfect condition.
