This wrist rest is carved in low relief of an official and his attendant in an architectural setting. The carving is well executed with precise line incising. It has an overall reddish brown patina and a slight blackish stain from ink on the official's hand and just above it. The underside shows approximately the same patina, while the cut edges have darkened with use...

The quality of the carving is extraordinary. This bamboo brush pot comes from an old German collection, there still is an old inventory number to the base of the piece. There is a Chinese inscription to the piece which can be translated as follows : "the boat is ready to go to heaven, the prince will go seek help from god". Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier. H : 14,4 cm. Diameter : 10,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice patina.

Only one of the most beautiful wood and lacquer Chinese baskets or round box ever to pass through my hands, this stunning beauty measures 9" high with the finial x 9" diameter and has strong decorative appeal, as well as being a genuine antique. The lid has a foo dog finial and is surrounded by Buddhist symbols, truly stunning details and exquisitely carved in low relief. This tall bamboo incense holder is elaborately carved with a bird attacking a snake. The birds wings are out-stretched and spread around the container and the bird is being cheered on by a much smaller rooster. The carving is deep and detailed.

The holder is 12 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter and has a deep mahogany brown patina.

This brush pot displays shallow carving with incising utilizing the natural “skin” of the bamboo to depict a scene of tortoise, cranes, and pine as a wish for longevity. The carver's name is incised beneath the pine tree. It is in good condition and has a nice patina. There is some wear to the interior from use. Acquired in London in the mid 1980s.
