A large exceptionally well carved Huang-Yang ("boxwood") sculpture of Damo seated in meditation on a rockwork base. This item is probably made in the 18th century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). For similar much smaller example, ref. Christies's 'Art D'Asie', Paris, 7 Dec 2007, lot 256. 19th Century Chinese Zitan Wood Carved Miniature 8 Immortal God with Stand 紫檀

The figures range from 35.35 mm to 38.36 mm tall. The stand is 0.67 inch (1.7 cm) tall by 0.78 inch (2 cm) wide and 6.3 inches (16 cm) in length. Total weight is 45.5 gram.

Some of the figures has flea bite chips and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Carved hardwood box. The wood appears to be Huang-Hualy. The decoration is sculpted in relief with a peach tree in a stylized vase, the tree bears foliage and 5 peaches. The stylized vase is composed of a filiform dragon whose head can be seen from the front. The box opens with a lid pierced with 2 holes to receive a retaining wire, so you could open the lid by making it sink without losing it. Chinese work. We do not know what the use of such boxes was...

The lot consists of a lovely early Chinese boxwood seal, carved with 'Shu zongfu', a matching pair of Lions with fine old patina and a silver pencil set.

Chinese letter box made with huanghuali wood on the sides and another kind of rosewood on the top; the bottom of the box is of soft wood. Qing Dynasty. Condition: age cracks and small chips; trace of paint on the surface. Dimensions: 13-7/8 long X 8" wide X 2-3/4" high.

A beautifully carved and gilt boxwood figure of Guan Yin / Guanyin. The goddess is holding the holy Buddhist scripture and has placed her hand between the open pages. China, Republic period, c 1920. The surface of the carving is covered with a thin layer of red that mixes with the gilt. The figure can be fixed to an oval wooden stand. Height (the stand not included) "4 ¾ / 12.3 cm. Condition: fine.

This 17th century carved polychrome wood head of Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) is 15 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 7 inches in depth. The solid teak wood base is 3 ¼ inches high, 9 inches wide and 8 ¾ inches in depth. This statue was part of the collection of a professor who spent over 20 years in China. Some of the color has come off and there is a long crack on the back of her head due to the age of this statue.

Chinese 20th Century Huanghuali altar table that has come from the Aixinjue Luo Collection. In wonderful condition with beautiful feathering grain throughout all of the surfaces. Great detail in all of the small carvings on the side panels and between the legs. Size: 35" H x 56.5" L x 13.5" D

Ancient mask of the traditional esoteric "Nuo" theater, representing the character of General Guanyu, wearing his helmet. Wood, with multiple superimposed polychrome pigments, meant to enhance the mask features, of which part is painted on paper glued to the mask. China, early 19th C. Height: 33 cm. The mask is mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition.

Antique wooden carving of a Chinese Lohan, which in the Buddhist religion is a state of enlightenment right before becoming a Bodhisattva. This Lohan stands with his robes open and his arms crossed, a hole drilled through his hands to hold something, perhaps a staff or a candle.
