A rare huanghuali scholar's box with it's original shiny varnish and original brass hardware. China, late Ming to early Qing, ca. 17th/18th century. Dimensions: L. 31 cm, W. 16 cm, H.10 cm. Condition: excellent original condition, only one brass loop at the front plate missing, a small piece of hardware on the lid missing and one of the wooden feet missing.

A large, very well and thinly potted bowl. The exterior of the steep rounded sides finely incised with two striding five-clawed dragons in mutual pursuit of flaming pearls, and enamelled in yellow, aubergine, black and shades of green with three different kind of large fruit branches...

Excavated in Kalimantan, Borneo. The piece is small, like most of the Song Geyao items, the shape is like Song, the glaze is like Song, but the clay ( porcelaneous ) looks different, and so unfortunately I have to be confident, that it must be a 18th century piece. What is confusing, is, that the piece was excavated together with some broken, ordinary Song pieces, and that there have not been found any other Qing material at this lokation. The piece is very nice, and in a perfect condition...

This brilliantly enamelled dish belongs to the same kind as the dish listed before ( # 396 ). However, this one is much more thinly potted, and its decoration, with a Phoenix in the center, is executed even more lavishly than on # 396. This late 18th century Chinese rock crystal brush rest is carved in the form of a mountain. It is 3 inches high, 3½ inches wide and 1¼ inches thick. It is in excellent condition for its age.

From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, a very interesting late 18th century export porcelain plate, depicting an unusual subject matter of a gondolier in what is either an Italian canal in Venice, or a Dutch canal in Amsterdam. The plate is executed in a good underglaze blue with an unidentified edifice in the foreground, and a border of floral motifs...

A wonderful Yongzheng famille rose export plate, decorated with a landscape scene within an ogival cartouche framed by draping floral sprigs and a diamond diaper border...

This pair of enameled glass brush holders carries a wild geese and grass design. They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. They came in blue brocade fitted boxes. Both have a ¡°Qian Long¡± (1736~1795) mark on the bottom. Near the date mark there is a red wax seal which indicates they were exported from mainland China. The color and the design are great. Both are in perfect condition.

A rare Qing dynasty 18th century Famille verte enamel large ewer with cover, rounded side with tall neck and curved handle and spout, ewer decorated with famille verte over glaze enamel figures from three kingdoms stories. good condition no damage no chip no crack no restoration, original kiln crackled on the base and minor glaze flacking on top of the cover, size: 21 cm height.

Perfect potted porcelain body with a polychrome enamel decoration. A so called Egg & Spinach glaze. The best of its kind ! Briliant colors with a fine crazing. It is also to see the so called " Rainbow effect " which is typical for old and genuine enamels.
