This is an exquisite antique Japanese Imari porcelain jar and cover from the late 17th century, precisely from the Edo period, circa 1680-1700 AD. The jar is a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship of the Japanese artisans of the time. The ovoid body of the jar is expertly decorated underglaze with peonies and chrysanthemums in iron red, cobalt blue, and gilt.
