Interesting lot of two bronzeage weapons from the Dong Son Culture, Han Chinese designs of weaponery, c. 300-100 BC.

A very nice consisting of a fine spearpoint with raised shoulds, socket and midrib, and a socketed battleaxe.

Burmese sterling silver bowl, embossed with various scenes of dancing people, its edges lined in lotus petals and scrolling vines.

Provenance: From the estate of E.C.S. George, Burmese counsel member from 1895-1910

Antique Sumatra / Indonesian sterling silver betel nut box, with incised scalloped edges and inlay of flowers, draping vine handles, raised on four small legs, original key included. The interior houses four compartments with a small oval box and two spoons, as well as a small container with white residue of slaked lime. The practice of betel nut chewing is common in many parts of South Asia. Slices of the areca nut would be wrapped in betel leaves and chewed, giving a mild stimulant effect...

Late 1800s / early 1900s

This bowl is raised from a sheet of silver and formed into a vessel with gently rounded sides. Having no feet, this slightly rounded base is flattened so that it sits firmly on a flat surface. The entire bowl is covered in hammered repousse work in much detail. Four Buddha images seating among dense stylized floral forms are in the wide lower register above which is a band of dot-like forms and in the top register are birds and flowers...

Antique Tibetan bronze statue of Ganesha, with an arch of flames around his head, a mouse beneath his foot, four arms holding an axe, a noose, and a delicacy. His only empty hand performs the abhaya mudra, a gesture of protection. Traces of vermillion pigment. The bottom of the statue is lined with metal embossed with a flower. 17th century. Indonesian nickle silver box in the form of a fu dog with long fangs and its tongue sticking out, engraved spiral and wave patterns decorating the entire body. 20th century. Size: 6.26" height, 9" length

Original pair of antique Thai cast bronze recumbent temple deer with three stag antlers. Each deer sits flat to the floor. Original bronzed patina, consistent with age. Each has an opposite leg tucked in, with gaze looking back over shoulder. Wheel of life dharma blanket is seen on each, along with beautiful collar. Complete and both ready to be enjoyed.

From our Southeast Asia Collection, a very fine Burmese silver alms-style bowl, late 19th century, extremely well-executed in deep repousse technique with a continuous scene of thirteen figures depicting an episode from the Burmese Jataka Tales (previous lives of the Buddha), bordered on top by a row of maw-pan floral scrolls incorporating seven chin-thei (Burmese buddhist lions), and bordered on the bottom by a row of stylized acanthus leaves...

Antique Tibetan gilt buddha statue, seated upon a lotus throne, holding a medicine jar in the left hand and touching down to earth with the right. Beautifully detailed with natural patina, based embossed with lotus mark. 18th century

Striking antique Siam mid to late 19th. century Ayutthaya Kampheng head of Buddha Sakyamuni (The Awakened One). His face with serene expression, closed eyes, aquiline nose, smiling lips and elongated earlobes with earrings.

The head is hollow inside and mounted on a wood base. It has a weight of almost 6 kg. No repairs, good condition.

A Thai Brass Kettle with an Overhead Handle. Well decorated in relief with birds and squirrels among and below a dense floral pattern. Thai L19thC. Height to top of handle: 9 1/4" (23.5 cm) Condition: very good, traces of polish

Height approximately 29.5 cm. Few small dents. The base has been layered with tin to increase weight, not for repairing purposes (must see photo number 10). There are many ornaments (silver inlaid) not appeared (more photos let us know). Overall it's a good vase.

Belt buckle of square shape, with a fine relief geometric decoration. Bronze, with nice age patina. Burma, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Length: 9.5 cm. Height: 6.2 cm. Very good condition.

Fine rectangular lime box made of bronze, decorated with numerous silver inserts representing floral and geometric designs. Inside the box are four compartments with their lids, also decorated with silver inserts showing stylised flowers. Philippines archipelago, Mindanao island, early 19th century. Dimensions: length: 9.3 cm, height: 6.1 cm. Slight abrasion due to age, otherwise very good condition. Provenance: Acquired in Luzon island in 1978.

This is an 18th century, or early 19th century Balinese iron buckle, decorated with serpent motifs with gold inlay. There is some age-related rubbing with associated loss to the inlay, as would be expected. There is an inlaid calligraphic inscription to the back of the "fastener," which I have not had translated. The pieces measure, variously, 2-5/8" X 2-1/2" for the buckle, and 2-1/2" X 1-1/2" for the "fastener." The listing is for both pieces.

Hollow cast in coppery-bronze. Two similar images depict Buddha in “Earth touching” mudra. Both are heavy castings, having an even, dark brown patina and hollow interiors with old brown patina and light traces of verdigris. The backs of both pedestals are cast with a lopp just below the seated Buddha and these were used to secure these two smaller images to a larger altarpiece.
