19th century Japanese kiseruzutsu - tobacco pipe holder. The material of the object is polished branch of umimatsu - in Japanese it literally means SEA PINE, and describes species of black coral with dense texture, concentric growth rings, and amber colored inclusions in the black material. Very simple elegant shape, nicely fat and heavy, wonderful patina and sheen to the surface. Great dignified piece, unusual material, very pleasant to the touch. Length 8 5/8 inches.

Pair of 19th Century Korean Hunting Paintings. Unique to Korea, hunting paintings always depict hunters in Mongolian attire. Koreans had great admiration for Mongolian archery and equestrian skills. Ink and colors on paper. Frame: 46 x 22 inches (171 x 56 cm), 34 x 16 inches (86 x 41 cm).

A nice plate with four windows of famille rose design and with underglaze blue floral ground, base unglazed. Qing Dynasty 18th century in good condition, except minor fritting around mouth rim area. No crack, no chip and free from restoration. Wide: 29,5 cm.

Chinese Qing dynasty (19th century) export watercolor on paper painting titled “Chinese Junk.” A lone figure stands at the front of the junk tending to the sails. The heads of the rowers are barely visible. Originally purchased from or framed at Berry-Hill Galleries on 5th Avenue in New York. Recently reframed with archival materials and UV glass in a substantial gold leaf frame with silk mat and gold filet. Sight size: 16 1/4" x nearly 22” (frame: 23 1/2" x 29”)...

A white glazed, well potted Jar covered with a creamy white glaze. Southern Song Dynasty. The " counterpart " to the larger jar ( item # 1077671, Stock # 320 ) excavated at the same location at Central Sulawesi and also offered by us. 19th century Japanese bronze tea ceremony hibashi (long metal chopsticks for handling charcoal in hibachi brazier) with finials in a form of heads of the Fungus of Immortality. These hibashi are for use in the summer time (winter ones have top half covered in wood). Finely made of bronze with high copper contents, beautiful casting and chiseling of the fungus, embossed areas at the working end for better handling of charcoals. Superb patina, beautiful wear, pleasantly heavy. Length 11 inches.

This is Nobori-Paper used in a house in the Edo era. The pattern of this Nobori-Paper is Shoki. Shoki is an old Chinese soldier. This is made with paper. The rim of this Nobori-Paper is protected in hemp thread.� This is hardly left now. Most of left flags are textiles. This has many stains, damage, but there is value for a document very much. A huge gilt bronze figure of Buddha in exceptional quality, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.), c. 16th. century AD.

A highly detailed bronze buddha of a heavy thic cast with much preserved laquer and fine gilt. The bronze figure depicts Buddha with a lovely expression and exceptional sculptured and engraved details to his robe and the Lotus Throne.

Chinese Blackwood and Natural gray mottled Marble top round Stool/table, later part of 1800's, 17 1/2" high, 13 1/2" diameter on top, with carved low relief floral branches on the apron, with cross stretcher under the marble to strengthen the legs, also stretchers are connected to the curved legs, some joint separations in the wood, no nails were used, it is a very heavy solid piece of furniture.

They are carved from a single piece of wood. They are hollowed out on the back to probably receive a column. They had to be at the entrance of a temple and supported the portico. The wood is cracked and blackened by time. I think they are Edo period Japanese, but they may be earlier. They are two magnificent creatures with a powerful and fierce appearance. The fact that the wood is excessively weathered makes me think they were outside the temple, at the front door...

Two Chinese porcelain bowls, originally decorated with floral anhua bands between narrow borders and a blossom in underglaze blue. With Dutch over-decoration of flower baskets and buildings. Condition: one bowl with hairline, a firing flaw (photo no. 8) and a tiny rim chip. Dimension: diameter: 14.5 cm, 6.5 cm high.

Beautiful Japanese mizuya (kitchen tansu), all keyaki front with very dramatic grain and original red-orange tranlslucent lacquer finish, 2 sections with an unusually tall top section including 4 separate compartments covered by sliders and a series of 5 small drawers; bottom section has a large compartment with 4 sliding panels and a row of 9 drawers.
