19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with bronze top depicting a not-so-repentant oni with a Buddhist gong striker in one hand and a votive plaque in the other as it prostrates himself to serve as a stepping stool for a beautiful maiden who is trying to reach a branch of flowering wisteria. Chinese Qing dynasty Kangxi marked monochrome beehive form water coupe (taibo zun) covered overall in a copper red glaze. The slightly recessed flat base and interior are white. The base holds an apocryphal underglaze blue six-character Kangxi reign mark written in three columns. This is a nicely crafted Japanese silver sake ewer with cherry tree & cherry blossoming flowers with a bird. The top flare & bottom is designed with chrysanthemum flowers with hand hammered background...

Simple wooden shishi (or lion) dance mask with movable ears and jaw. The ears and eyebrows are stained black. Behind the ears a row of small holes have been made, used for attaching the garment (the body of the lion). Mingei.
All light wood, wooden joints (ears on sticks for manipulation by hand).

Nice patina, minor traces of usage: small chip at one of ears, short and unimportant crack in skull. All in all very good condition.

Quite large size polychrome bowl, decorated with green and red enamels of floral scroll. Early Qing dynasty Fujian ware Kangxi period in very good condition, only with minor tiny chips to the foot rim and mouth rim and free from any restoration. Diameter: 17.7cm.

This is a square and heavily potted export plate, circa 18th century. On the cavetto of the plate, it has a band of flora design with roulette diapers and ruyi head all around. On the inner of base plate, it has a scene of a river with pavilion and houses surrounded with weeping willows and pine trees. Near the front of the pavilion, two people were seen engaged in a discussion and to the left of the pavilion; it appears like a lady is crossing the bridge...

Elegant bronze sake pourers with superb metal craftmanship and mythical dragons in raised relief. The edge of the pourers and the lid has detailed diaper patterns also in raised relief. Chogappo made of fragments of ramie which is recycled from old textiles. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. (Reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). Both warps and wefts are hand-plied. Hemp or ramie ones are for wrapping summer clothing...
