A fine late 17th century oval porcelain bowl molded in the form of a chrysanthemum. 6.375" x 5.5" x2", it is decorated sparingly in the Kakiemon palette. Ex-Christie's.

Cotton cloth with katazome pattern which is called "Narumi-Kongata", imitating Arimatsu-Narumi shibori pattern. It is called "Urumi-zome among craftspeople. It uses plural stencils and requires high dyeing technique. In good condition but has two mending patches for the cut which used to be the neck part and in one side of selvedges. Antique Korean pair of nong, bedside chests for storage. Made of zelkova elm wood panels with cypress wood frame. Hardware is made of brass and has butterfly shaped door latches and hinges. The upper portion of each chest has a row of 4 small drawers with handles featuring bat shaped back plates. There is additional decorative corner hardware on the body and doors of the chest. Hinged doors open to a large open compartment. The doors themselves are finely inlaid with contrasting hardwood...

It is a thick indigo dyed cotton noren that looks like a very nice folding screen of Taisho era. It is a very auspicious pine, bamboo, plum and crane, turtle design. There is a faint fading part, but overall it is in very good condition. On the far right is the name and date of the orderer for this noren. There is a family crest of the house. Japanese kuruma tansu (wheeled storage chest), from the Mikuni area of Japan, made of keyaki (elm) wood, two long drawers on top portion of chest are held in place by a locking bar (comes with key), bottom portion of chest has large open compartment covered by sliding panels with horizontal slats, wonderful iron hardware, Edo Period. Size: 49 1/2" high x 54" wide x 23 1/2" deep.

Antique Cambodian, Khmer, bronze figure of Hindu deity Vishnu standing on a square plinth in samabhanga, each of his four arms holding an attributes, mace, lotus, chakra and conch, wearing a cylindrical mitre headdress, dressed in short pleated sampot with fishtail pleats at front and back and secured with an elaborate beaded belt, the face with wide smiling features flanked by long earrings.

CONDITION: In good condition showing age and usage, with dark brown and green patina...

A wildly crafted bronze image of a shishi lion breathing out a cloud forming the basin for a flower arrangement (known as an usubata). The curly hair has been somehow flaked off and maintained during the casting process, quite an exceptional example. The basin can be removed from the mouth of the creature. Assembled it is 32 x 28 x 33 cm tall (12-3/4 x 11-1/4 x 13 inches) and weighs 4390 grams (9.5 pounds). It is in fine original condition.

Antique Japanese single section isho tansu (clothing chest), made with Kiri (paulownia) wood front and Sugi (cypress) sides. Copper hardware with lovely original patina on handles, and locks are complimentary to the original warm finish.
