This is a truly rare and fabulous Satsuma Vase. It was made for the Japanese Imperial family. It has been in a private collection for decades. On one side all the blossoming flowers have raised relief enamel work. The gold detailing on this vase is as fine as we have ever seen. Unique glossy deep green ground on each panel. The blue Interspersed among this gilt decoration are the Imperial 16 petal Chrysanthemums and Kiri Mons. The footed base also exquisitely decorated heavily in gilt designs...

Late Meiji to early Taisho (1910s) Japanese wooden round kogo (box for incense during tea ceremony), its top with a silver plaque engraved with bamboo stalks and leaves. Fine Chinese Ming Dynasty Painted Pottery Mandarin Tile

This is a very rare tattered boro textile with a lot of Japanese antique natural Persimmon astringent dyed brown and indigo dye hemp patched with sashiko stitches. The vintage old cloth, which has been repaired and used many times and has faded, is a wonderful work of art in itself and can be enjoyed on both sides. 18th Century Japanese small antique scroll painting of a koi leaping up a waterfall. Beautifully painted with great expression, the fish leaps from the churning waters below. Painted in sumi ink on paper and mounted on lovely antique obi silk with a fan motif. Signed by the artist. 18th century (pvt. Collection purchased in Japan in early 1980's)
Size of scroll: 64 1/2" high x 9 3/4" wide (12" wide including scroll ends). Size of art: 35" high x 9" wide.

This small silk jacket was made and worn by the child of a wealthy traditional Han Chinese family. The dark blue silk fabric is embroidered on the front and back with a floral arrangement. There are additional decorative elements of tassels and border trim. The jacket spans 15 inches across the chest.

The jacket is in very good condition with only a slightly visible stain on the front embroidery, which would be expected of a childs jacket of this age.

Old Kyoto Nishijin obi. This obi is one of the 5 favorite obis from my collection - we have over 200 obis. It is almost impossible to find a obi like this today. The owner of the store in Tokyo where this obi was purchased once said that single good obi was coming out from one household when they go out knocking on the doors in the old town. The store had gone through changes since and no longer carries antique textiles...
