Antique Japanese unusual merchant's box on a custom metal stand. It has a large front door with iron hardware, which opens to reveal three storage drawers inside. The box's lid opens to two compartments covered in black lacquer, with an interesting red lacquer marking on the central panel as well as the inside of the lid. The backside of the box has a large symbol in red pigment. Meiji Period (1868 - 1912)

A nice Chinese export sancai famille verte porcelain statue of a Chinese scholar holding a scroll. Measures about 11 inches high. Base is 3" x 2.25". Circa 1900.
Small architectural element decorated in relief with Vishnu, in his other name as Anantashayana (meaning "reclining on Ananta"), resting on the many-headed serpent-king called Ananta "the endless". Vishnu is holding the conch ("shankha", symbol of the five existential elements) in both hands. Wood, with fine glossy patina. Nepal, early 17th century, maybe earlier. Height: 6" (15,2 cm). The relief is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Erosion due to great age, otherwise good condition.

Beautiful thick bronze hollow votive figure in the shape of Dainichi Nyorai sitting on a lotus base, former part of a kakebotoke. His head gear finely engraved with floral motives. Bronze with dark brown patina and traces of gilding. Kamakura period, 14th century.

This is cotton child Kasuri kimono of Edo period. As for this, a pattern is Hagoita, Hane and Hami of the harness. Hagoita play is play of New Year holidays. As for this, Yokote Kasuriga is used for Edo period of Akita. This has two or three places of stains, but does not stand out. This does not have damage. The state is complete.

A set of three blue and white saucer plates, the back brown glazed, so called Batavia ware. Decoration of bamboo, peony and a rock. Yongzheng to early Qianlong, first part of the 18th century. Diameter "5½/ 13,5 cm. Condition: small repair to the border of one plate, all with hairlines.
DESCRIPTION: A lovely white jade toggle (or pendant) with scattered light brown to grayish inclusions, strung with an orange amber bead on a cord. This toggle dates from the Qing Dynasty and is in very good condition; the jade surface is quite smooth to the touch and there are no chips to the jade or amber bead. DIMENSIONS: Jade toggle: 1 1/4" long (3.2 cm) x 1" wide (2.5 cm).
Spectacles were only affordable for the very wealthy in China during the 1800's. The lenses were ground from crystal of various shades. Because of the cost, if a lens or frames were broken the remaining pieces would be refitted into a replacement set...as happened with this pair of antique Chinese eyeglasses. The vestiges of the original fitting remain on the left lens.
A nice old miniature Scholar's screen with one panel depicting a poem written in beautiful calligraphy signed by the writer. The other side has faint remains of some scene. Size:H. 23.5cm. W. 13.3cm.

Antique Chinese beautiful agate brushwasher with carved berries and leaves on creeping vines. The stem and a bunch of berries are the feet of this piece. The wonderful warm orangeish brown tone areas have been carved skillfully as the leaves.
