A Fine Pair of Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Painted Pottery Tiles - Deer
This fine-quality pair of highly decorative pottery tiles was made during the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368 - 1644). They are made from a grey pottery and the decoration in relief features a pair of deer in a landscape. Note the detail to the deer, the carved and incised decoration as well as the impressed flower blossoms to the deers' bodies...
A Chinese, Changsha kiln, wide-mouthed jar; Tang dynasty. It is covered overall with a finely-crazed, celadon glaze which terminates above the flat base, and with decorative splashes of iron-rich glaze and applique handles.

Condition: In evcavated condition. There are numerous small chips to the underside of the rim, and patches of wear to the glaze. The upper parts of the two handles are missing...

Japanese late Edo period cylindrical form porcelain lidded wine pot on a raised foot decorated in underglaze blue with bands of leafy flowers set against a white porcelain ground. Fixed upright U-shaped handle. Mid-19th century. 8 3/4" high to the top of the handle x about 8” across to the tip of the spout. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Typical minor production irregularities.

A rare Chinese Sancai ewer from the Tang Dynasty (618-907), featuring a rounded shape with a dual strap handle and spout.
The ewer is adorned with a variegated sancai glaze, displaying hues of amber and green set against a cream background. It stands at a height of 9.5 cm and spans 15 cm in width.
The overall condition is excellent, with only a minor glaze chip observed at the bottom edge of the spout.

This molded Chinese Qing Dynasty Jia Qing Period (1796~1820) export blue and white vase is 7 1/8” high, 3 ½” on the widest part and 2 ½” thick. It depicts an open mouthed dragon fish jumping out of the water. According to Chinese legend, if a fish (carp) can jump over the “Dragon Gate” in the Yellow River, it will turn into a dragon. The story has been used to encourage youngsters to reach their goals...
