A Chinese Qingbai Glazed Ewer. Circa, 10th-12th Century, Song Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Featuring a baluster shaped body and a waisted neck flaring to a wide trumpet mouth with an applied straight handle, curving inward to where it is attached on the top, opposite its short curved spout. It is decorated with carved vertical lines, chambering its body and is covered overall in a green-white “Qingbai-type” of glaze. Its base remains fully unglazed...

Cast bronze incense burner, supported by three feet, on the sides, two Buddhist lions form the handles. The object was not cast in one go, indeed the handles and the feet were cast separately and welded, which for the feet is unusual. This seems to announce a lack of technique due to modest provincial craftsmen working in isolated regions. The bronze has casting defects, holes and burrs and the finishes are sketchy...

Japanese hardwood tobacco ban (smoking box) or ladies vanity box with carrying handle. The lid is inlaid with shell and enamel coins and birds, with an animal and wire finial. The middle hardwood divider lifts away to allow access to the lowest sections with four compartment.

Box and its tray in black lacquered wood decorated with bindweed in gold and silver powdered lacquer. Details of gold squares. Black interior. Nice finish. No signature. Japanese work from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century, Meiji or Showa period. Good condition except for some wear on the corners visible in the photos. No catering.

A Kannon Bosatsu wooden statue from the early Meiji Period (19th century) with rests of its original paint.

It is a unique peace of buddhist art, as it bears on its back a writing with black ink from a Samurai. The charakters mean Saikoku Sanjusansho (The Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage), made by 'Yasukuni Joza' in the status of Bushi (Samurai) in Bungo area, Oita Prefecture.

There are no similar pieces to find. It is really matchless and singular...

Antique Japanese Ningyo doll in light purple and pine silk robes lined in red silk, with pale gold obi, holding a Wisteria branch. She is made with real hair fashioned in traditional Geisha style and beautiful hand-painted facial features. The doll is on a black lacquered stand. A rare moonlight-tinted celadon statue of Bodhisattva was mold in beautiful features.
Holding in one hand with a string of rosary when another hand holding a purifying bottle, the Bodhisattva was clad with Song style clothing.
Applied with light-tinted celadon glaze, the surface of the figure was kept in very good condition when numerous bubbles were squeezed in the glaze.
Some pinpoint incursion were happened to the glaze when some burial coatings were preserved on...

A large Japanese tokurri, emulating Korean Buncheon ware, with inlaid slip decoration; Edo period. The decoration is divided into multiple bands of repeating designs, which have been incised into the clay body. A white slip was applied, and the body wiped clean; leaving the slip infilling the incisions...

A very nice example jar decorated with splashed iron spots. Qingbai glaze over a porcelain body. Jingdezhen ware, Song Dynasty 12th. century. Diameter = 8 cm, height = 6,5 cm. Condition : excellent no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

Katsugi or Kazuki which is worn over the head down and fully covers the body, which is made of hemp, whose wefts and warps are hand-plied. Originally, the kazuki was worn by a noble woman when she went out from Heian to Kamakura period (about 9th to 13th century) over kimono. The collar is lowered to cover a head. This one is probably made in early Meiji period (the latter half of the 19th century) in Shonai region in Yamagata Prefecture and worn at the wedding...

This is a set of three large bronze belt-hooks from the Khmer culture in ancient Southeast Asia (circa 12th century AD). Each one of the fabulous pieces measures roughly 16 cm in length. As can be seen clearly in the photos, they have some soil encrustation, patina, and slight damage as might be expected from pieces of this age. The stand (roughly 32 cm in height) is included in the purchase. These make a wonderful display/conversation piece.

This is a well-painted Tibetan thanka depicting the Medicine Buddha. The painting is unframed and measures 10" X 12". Ample gold highlights, including the "aureole" surrounding the Buddha. Minor rubbing, as can be seen in the photos. In need of a good cleaning. Inscription on the reverse.
