Simple wooden shishi (or lion) dance mask with movable ears and jaw. The ears and eyebrows are stained black. Behind the ears a row of small holes have been made, used for attaching the garment (the body of the lion). Mingei.
All light wood, wooden joints (ears on sticks for manipulation by hand).

Nice patina, minor traces of usage: small chip at one of ears, short and unimportant crack in skull. All in all very good condition.

This is a nicely crafted Japanese silver sake ewer with cherry tree & cherry blossoming flowers with a bird. The top flare & bottom is designed with chrysanthemum flowers with hand hammered background...

This is a square and heavily potted export plate, circa 18th century. On the cavetto of the plate, it has a band of flora design with roulette diapers and ruyi head all around. On the inner of base plate, it has a scene of a river with pavilion and houses surrounded with weeping willows and pine trees. Near the front of the pavilion, two people were seen engaged in a discussion and to the left of the pavilion; it appears like a lady is crossing the bridge...

Chogappo made of fragments of ramie which is recycled from old textiles. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. (Reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). Both warps and wefts are hand-plied. This antique cinnabar lidded jar vase form is surrounded with deeply carved garden landscape scenes with several men and woman including and older man and small child. The carved details of people, plants and house facades are all clear with no loses.

This cinnabar jar is in very good condition. It stands 6.5 inches and 6 inches wide. The word China is handwritten on the bottom, which indicates that the piece was made between 1890 and 1914.
