A wonderful 19th century blue and white vase, painted fully with continuous landscapes of mountains and pavilions, with the cliffs and trees rendered in bold calligraphic strokes.
Condition report: tiny chip to mouth rim, bottom drilled (with two glazelines radiating from hole)...
Another highlight of our family collection: Rather large Chinese Kinuta Seiji Celadon Vase for Japanese Tea Ceremony. Classical mallet (kinuta) shaped celadon vase in the style of the longquan kilns of the 13th century. The celadon glaze is applied very thickly and the vase may have been glazed and fired more than one time. Some fine aesthetic hairlines complete its beautiful expression.
The execution of the foot rim and the texture of the clay matches the Chinese original...

These two vases were mostly part of an altar set that included an incense burner and circular box, all in cast bronze and having similar Koranic inscriptions. The vases are heavily cast as are most of these types of inscribed utensils. The calligraphy is raised from the background and is framed by a lobed cartouche surrounding a ring-punched background that helps to accentuate the inscription...

A very rare and high value Yuan dynasty under glaze copper red yuhuchun vase, rounded side with pear shape and open wide trumpet mouth, vase decorated with under glaze copper red of continuous lotus flower motif at the exterior, vase covered with good qingbai glaze, Yuan red under glze vase is rare because of high difficulties in making, very rare to find similar yuhuchun vase in this very good condition.

Round box is very well-potted and very skillfully painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a design of a boy, or possibly an immortal, riding on the back of a crane flying among clouds. The brushwork is finely detailed—even picking out tiny feathers on the crane’s back. Encircling both the base and the lid are bands of mille-fleurs decoration executed in minute detail with skillful brushwork...
A very finely decorated Imperial wine cup depicting two iron-red five-clawed dragons, over breaking waves, in pursuit of flaming pearls.
The base carries the underglaze blue seal mark of the Daoguang Emperor and was made during his reign (1821-1850).

A small teapot, in late 18th Century English (Leeds) shape, delicately painted with famille rose enamels. This item was made in China for export, circa 1790-1830 - probably during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor.
