Antique Japanese small zushi (traveling shrine). Red lacquer case opens to reveal the Buddha in the moment in which he attains parinirvana, dies and is released from the cycle of rebirth. Here he is recumbent on his side on an elongated lotus bed on a two tiered stand carved with blossoming branches and waves. The whole interior of the zushi is lacquered gold as is the Buddha while the lotus petals are delicately painted in colors with gold details...

A rare and unusual late Qing archaistic 'hu' vase, covered with a thick and bubbly ruby glaze, and decorated with cartouches of famille verte silkworms wiggling amongst mulberry leaves...

Early 1900s turquoise snuff bottle with a landscape scene having carved openwork and just loads of things going on. A very fine colored turquoise with a wonderful surface polish. It is presented on an equally fine earlier zitan, or similar, wood stand. Both are in excellent condition. A Rare Koryo Bronze Mirror with a Flying Dragon: Korea, Koryo dynasy, 11th-13th Century. Of a floral foliate designed in rim, 8 floating clouds between rings, and a large flying single Kirin-Dragon around the center, the knob raised and pierced. It’s in fair condition with a silvery dark green patina on the mirror surface and some earth and green encrustation and has a pin hole on the face. It measures 12.55cm (4 7/8”)

A massive greek terracotta figure of a Herm standing on a high base, Greek/South Italy, 4th-3rd century B.C.

The bust depicts a male deity with a high radiating segmented crown, underneath the long curly hair. Short wavy strands covering the forehead. In the middle of the statuette the male genitals are shown in relief. On the back of the base there's two engraved Greek letter (AK), which relates to workshop and is a signature...

Antique Chinese porcelain tray with gilt edges, its inside finely decorated with oceanside scenery in light glaze colors that are quite pleasing to the eye. Several small people can be seen kneeling, strolling along the water, and riding in a small boat. Very finely painted with excellent detail. A Very Large, Fine and Rare Korean Buddhist Painting: Korea, Joseon dynasty, early 19th century. removed from a frame. Buddha, Amitahha, and Assembled Attendant deities. Painted in polychrome mineral pigments on linen cloth. It’s in very finr condition, it measures 87” w. x 42.5” h. (221cm w. x 108 cm h.).

This rare and unusual ivory carving of a sage is an early 20th century product. It is 10” high (with fitted hard wood base, it is 11” high), 3 ½” wide and 3” thick both measured from bottom. This image is the great Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist Li Shi-Zhen (李 時 珍, 1518~1593). Li Shi-Zhen is considered to be one of the greatest naturalists in China. He was interested in the proper classification and use of herbs...

An antique Japanese 2 section Nagoya Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress), Akita Sugi (Cryptomeria from the Akita region) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original iron fittings. Constructed using mortise and tenon & through mortise and tenon joinery as well as hardened wood nails. There are side horizontal slats for added strength and support. The top sliding door panels were decorated with beautiful flowing grain Akita Sugi wood boards...

Salt box with its lid, of rectangular shape, decorated with incised geometric design on its sides, and geometric, partly in relief, design on its lid. An opening on the lid allows a spoon (now missing) to rest inside the box. Nepal, 19th century. Length: 18,7 cm. Height: 11 cm. Some erosion due to age, otherwise very good condition. Collected in Nepal in the early seventies.
