Well potted, the sides moulded with a pair of animal mask and mock ring handles between two rows of bosses, all under a bluish-green celadon glaze of even tone thinning to reveal the pale body on the extremities , an unglazed rim surrounding the reign mark on the recessed base. A peepal tree leaf finely painted in ink, colour and gold, depicting two Buddhist disciples in a landscape setting. Pasted on grey cardboard, with inscription in gold and red seal on the left side. Mounted in a lotus leaf shaped frame and base, carved from hardwood. Condition: lower left corner with a stain, some traces of usage. Dimension: total height: c. 25.8 cm, 19.3 cm wide, Bodhi leaf: c. 16 x 13 cm, weight: 352 g.

A centerpiece agate stone bead from over a thousand year

Rare Yixing Hexagonal Tea Caddy and Cover, the sides finely moulded with flowering prunus on a diaper ground. Chinese 18thC. Height 16.6cm. Condition: four minor shallow frits to rim of caddy; no cracks, chips or restoration.

Pair of early 19th century menuki - Japanese sword fittings - each depicting different hanaike - hanging container for flower arrangement, one made out of a bamboo stem, the other out of a hollow double gourd. Fantastic unusual design in Japanese taste, excellent casting and detailing, beautiful patina. Length 1 7/16 inches.

The small jade carving is 2” long, 1 ¼” wide and 1” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It depicts a smiling fisherman. On one hand, he is holding his long beard; in the other he is holding a string of Ling Zhi (lucky mushrooms). A turtle and a fish appear on the fisherman’s back carved from dark brown part of the stone. It is in excellent condition.

Black-glazed kylix of shallow curved bowl with inset lip, slightly concave on the outside. The cup is standing on a thick spreading ring foot. Dotted circle and thin red wash on the reserved bottom.

An antique Korean true chest made entirely of red pine wood. Nickel hardware with double gourd hard mounts and stylized Chrysanthemum nail heads. Originally used to store valuables. Possibly originates from North Korea. Constructed using dovetail joinery.

An ancient Chinese Han Dynasty earthenware cocoon jar circa 206 BC-220 AD, with traces of original hand painted design motif. Cocoon jars a name derived for its the resemblance with the shape of a silk worm cocoon. They were originally used as wine storage vessels. Antique Japanese bamboo walking stick. Carved with scenes of snakes chasing frogs. The frogs and snakes appear on the surface of the cane as if through holes in a tunnel. With details painted in ink and light colors. Signed by 吉明刀 Yoshiaki.

Unusual porcelain bowl in the shape of a double gourd with two separate compartments. The large section is for washing brushes; the small section may be used as a brush holder.
The outside of the large bowl is decorated in underglaze blue with pavilions in a landscape with mountains and a river. The edge is faceted and painted with cloud-like shapes. The outside of the smaller extension is decorated with stylized flowers. Ribbed knob on top (19-petaled chrysanthemum)...

This is costume of Kabukino of the Taisho era. Sasani-tuyu of the pattern is bamboo grass and the dew. There are some a few stains of the aging, but does not stand out. There is not the damage, and the state is complete. Size 127cm x 119cm (50 "x 46, 8")

This is a very unusual, decorated bronze axe head from Northern Iran. I have not seen an axe of this exact type before. It has a reddish brown patina that is typical of earlier bronze or copper age pieces. The overall design and decoration is quite unique as is obvious in the photos. This piece weighs 276 grams and measures nearly 12 cm across. Such an unusual piece will not last long so don't miss it!

Antique Japanese small zushi (traveler's shrine) with unusual scene of Buddha seated on a lotus throne which rises out of billowing waves. Below him, two lords stand on top of the water while smaller lotuses bloom around them. Carved of wood with painted and lacquered details.

A finely done red kutani dish decorated with a dragon flying among the clouds surrounded by scrolling waves and a peony like floral pattern. The bottom of the plate is decorated with dragons and clouds done in an archaic-like style design. The work contains an inscription reading, kutani. Chinese soapstone carving of a scene from a folk tale: the famous Tang Dynasty poet, Meng Haoran (689-740) ventures out into the snow with his young attendant in search of plum blossoms in the snowy hills. In finding this hint of early spring, he hoped to find inspiration for his poems. They see an amazing plum tree starting it's bloom in the cold of late winter...

Early 1800's underglaze cobalt blue decorated Chinese tea bowl stands. The center of the dish is open with a raised collar and the opening designed to accommodate a footed tea bowl. The underside is decorated with concentric rings and three stylized bats. The side of the foot ring is decorated with auspicious symbols. In very good condition showing very little sign of wear. They measure 4 inches diameter, interior diameter 2 1/8" and 1 1/8" high.

Round in shape in the spirit of a kobako, this rare box in 2 parts in fundame lacquer represents a butsudan (small portable temple) inside which there are, very finely carved, a Buddha on the lotus and 2 apsaras. On the lids lotus leaves seem to fly.

Depicting the five peaceful manifestations of Manjushri, including the wrathful Mahakala as protector deity of the thangka. Antique middle eastern silk rug with scrolling floral design on a dark blue ground. late 19th early 20th century. It measures 44" by 56".

On a fundame lacquer ground. The decor is in hira and taka maki-e of gold lacquer with coral and malachite inlays of green and red celestial bamboo berries in their foliage announcing the arrival of autumn. The interior of the compartments is in nashiji lacquer. Signed: Kajikawa and Shibayama. The ojime is made of horn. Height: 7.8 cm. The cord is pink and not blue.

Chinese green glazed pottery stove with silvery surface.

The silvery surface is also called "mercury glaze". This silvery precipitation is the result of chemical changes in the lead glaze caused by prolonged burial in the tomb. Greenware became popular during the Eastern Han period.

Antique Japanese large 2-section storage tansu for an herbal merchant. Made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood, beautifully worn and patinated from years of use. The top section has a large compartment opened by two sliding panels and with two interior shelves. The bottom section has 38 drawers for storage of various herbs and wares. Every drawer has an iron hirute-shaped pull.
