A rare 18th/19th Century carved agate snuff bottle with, possibly later, silver and rose quartz stopper. On the stopper is inscribed the Shanghai silversmiths "Wen Yuan" who are recorded as having traded from the Jiaqing (1796-1820) reign through until the Republic period (1912- 1949). Condition - excellent - there is a shallow chip on top, next to the mouth (please view enlargement 11) no further damages and no restoration. 5cm (2inches) high; 4.8cm (1.9 inches) wide.
This very fine drilled 6 1/4" carved bone shawl or hair pin depicts three birds eating a large snake and is engraved on both sides. It is beautifully patinated.

A rare and delicate QING Dynasty Silver and Paktong Opium Pipe with beautifully detailed metalwork, which because of its size probably belonged to a Lady. The damper is held by a hand and decorated with a fine Peony flower. Good condition. Size: Length 6.5" (16.5 cm.) Origin: China. Antique Korean bowl with crackle celadon glaze. The bowl's interior is incised with design of flowers and filigree, with a line incision just below the rim. The outer body is slightly ribbed, tapering to the recessed foot.

An 18th century Japanese Arita porcelain moulded dish, circa 1750 ~ 1780. The dish with a cavetto moulded with foliage and lotus flowers within a barbed rim. The centre sporting a fine underglaze blue ferocious dragon and pearl amongst coloured clouds. Within the foot-rim is an unusual six-character Yongzheng mark. A dish of this design is illustrated in Shibata, “Complete Catalogue of the Shibata Collection” The Kyushu Ceramic Museum, # 3359.
Approximately 21.2cm diameter...
An interesting and scarce stone seal in black stone of the Late Babylonian type, probably 1st. millenium, but could be earlier.
With a hieroglyphic looking sign engraved in the base.

Tenuki is depicted standing, his head covered by his huge scrotum. It is carved in a wood that seems to me to be cherry. The sculpture is simple and vigorous. The netsuké is ideally compact in shape. The patina of the wood is very old and beautiful. There is a 2 characters signature which I have not translated but can do on request. It is probably a well-known artist. I think beginning of 19°, but maybe before.
