Kicho made of kosode (meaning kimono with small opening of wrists) which is made of silk damask dyed with beni (safflower). All embroideries are also vegetable dye silk yarn and gold yarn. Kicho is a kind of screen used as blinder, wind guard and partition. It was used in the house of the aristocrats since Heian period (late 8th to 11th century). A finely carved cylinder seal in black stone engraved with a scene of worshippers or deities making offers, Neo-Assyrian, c. 9th.-8th. century BC.

Very detailed carving with shows the deities on either side of the tree of life and a vessel on a small stair or table, perhaps an alter. Crescent and star above.

This antique toggle was sourced from China. I suspect that was originally from Tibet. The carved circular markings on bottom of 2 of the sides of the toggle are more typical of the ethnic minorities.

Toggle is almost 2 inches long and .5 inches x .5 inches.

A Chinese three piece tea and coffee set decorated with a raised dragon stretching right around the bulbous body of each item. This decoration is laid on the flat surface and forms a three dimensional sculptural effect. The handles are formed as sea dragons and the finials as heads of the creature. The craftsmanship is breathtakingly detailed and fine , the weight is a good gauage of 1800 grms (58oz.). It is stamped MH 90 and Chinese characters. Age: 19C...

I bought this antique Tibetan ethnic minority needle case years ago in China. Needles were an important sewing tool for women of every indigenous culture and for the Tibetans the needle case was frequently worn as a jewelry accessory for costume adornment festivals. The small jade bi functions as a weight for stability at the bottom of the needle case. It is beautiful.

Antique Japanese pair of boxwood okimono Nio. The Nio are guardians to Buddhist temples, and enforcers of physical confrontation to fight back against evil. Nio are typically placed on either side of a temple door. One statue, named Misshaku Kongo or Agyo, has an open mouth to represent the first sound in the Sanskrit language "a", symbolizing birth and overt violence...

Container in 2 parts. Rare form. Perhaps an incense burner or a container to keep a liquid warm? A small undecorated white porcelain bucket fits into a porcelain container decorated with enamel birds. Below mark of Tong-Zhi, one of the last Chinese Emperor.
