A Yuan/Ming Celadon Dish. Diameter approximately 28 cm. The dish covered with bluish green glaze. There are few fungi and dots at the dish. Good condition.

This is a finely hand-carved 19th century Japanese Netsuke depicting a Karako wearing his typical Chinese robe, who is carrying his little brother on his shoulders. Younger karako's hair puffs inlaid with darn horn. Rich patina. Unsigned. Netsuke measures 0.82 inches (2.1cm) wide, and 1.72 inches (4.4cm). Netsuke is in excellent condition, as may be seen in the posted photos.

A fine gourd-shaped bottle decorated in Chinese Transitional style. Arita 1660 – 1680.

The bottle is decorated in late Ming style with the enjoyment of nature. These bottles are not uncommon but are seldom encountered with such fine painting.

The Catalogue of the Shibata Collection exhibits two similar bottles.

The hardstone point is probably made in agate and is very beautiful in hand. They can probably be dated to the 2nd.-1st. millenium BC, but 1 could be much earlier...

This is Furosiki made in the Izumo district for Edo period. This is dyed in Katazome and Hikizome. This is dyed in natural indigo plant and Yamamomo. This has a stain such as the image in some points. And this has some small holes. This shows old form of Izumo Furosiki. As for this, cotton is spun by hand and is thick. A pair woman's Paduka in fish form, made of hardwood and inlaid with brass wire. Base inscribed "Hindu bath sandals" and "Anna Broadwood". A similar pair in the Bata Shoe Museum Collection in Toronto. Dimension: c. 22 cm long, 8.8 cm wide, total height: 8.4 cm. Condition: few traces of usage, a short section with missing wire (see picture no. 2).

A slightly larger than average pumpkin form Yixing teapot, with nice used patina, probably made in China during the 18th or 19th Century. This item does not carry a maker's mark. Condition - very good - there are light (production) firing cracks to the body (see enlargements 5 and 8) and there is a chip and some small firing cracks to the inside of the cover; no other damages and no restoration...

With spherical body on short foot, the tubular neck with traces of engravings, the handle with beading and pomegranate thumb-rest, minor dents, hairline crack and a couple of small holes to body, but intact, overall patination to surface.

This antique copper reposse gau houses a picture instead of a clay tsa tsa which was common for a family gau. when the family could afford to do so, the picture would be replaced by a clay tsatsa. Curiously, this gau also houses 2 amulets, which were typically provided by a monk. The paper is very old and I am told it is bad Karma to unfold the amulet.
