Unusual late Qing Dynasty (late 19th century to 1911) Chinese scholar’s bronze seal with a sea horse grip and round base. Wonderful quality casting, beautiful patina. The bottom is carved with two sunken characters that can be translated as WINE TERRACE, red seal paste in the grooves. Wonderful scholar’s object. Height 2 3/4 inches, base 5/8 inches round.

Okimono expertly carved from a single block of ivory depicting a hunter in the company of an Onagadori rooster. A child stands at the hunter's feet while he strokes the rooster's feathers.
This okimono features the Yukiharu 之晴 signature in relief under the base within a rectangular reserve in red lacquer.

A intricately done Chinese fencai with motif of dragons scrolling vines, and peonies. Fine brushes made from different materials with caps to cover the tip were often part of a scholar literati's desk and were called the four treasures of the scholar's studio. Qing Dynasty, rare (no one I know has seen one before), silver amulet with a rat (definitely not a mouse). 2020 was the Chinese Lunar Calendar for the Metal Rat so this being a silver piece represents a full 60 year lunar cyclical completion this year. This is a medium size bamboo brush pot with a mountain scenery. It is very well carved with many fine details. It even has the name of the mountain with scrolling heavenly clouds at the top and then with the pine and bamboo tress set behind a mountainous background. This is a design for a kimono with a leafing vine surrounding a lacquer calligraphy box with inkstone and brushes in tones of grays and black with only the calligraphy brushes having red and yellow handles.
