This is a beautiful and unique cloisonne box. It has great workmanship and a beautiful rare deep purple ground color. It is not signed but was probably created by Hayashi or Kinuken. It is a little bigger than most boxes measuring 5 3/4 inches by 4 5/8 inches and 2 5/8 inches tall. Has a scratch on the underside shown in the images. This special box is from a spectacular Cloisonne collection and acquired almost 50 years ago.

Extremely unusual and rare 19th century Chinese bone musical wind chimes with a horizontal bar carved with scrolling flowers and supporting 8 suspended hollow tubes. Each tube has a number of large and small holes in its side that allows it to produce a flute like sound as the wind blows through it. Each tube has a different number of holes (left to right, number of large/small holes): 3/6, 2/7, 0/9, 5/7, 4/8, 2/8, 3/4 and 3/9. Must form some sort of musical scale, I guess...

19th century Japanese good size angel skin coral obidome (sash ornament) in a shape of a natural coral branch. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, and is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions. Simple clever design, very beautiful fat natural coral branch with subtle light pink areas. Metal fixture with cutouts in cherry petal shapes and two loops on the back for an obi cord. Length 1 3/4 inches.

Juban (under kimono) made of three kinds of silk cloth. One is silk crepe with yamamayu (wild silk) stripes and the other is silk crepe with stripes. The third one is tsumugi (pongee silk) with katazome komon (stencil-resist-dye small pattern). All natural dyed. Yamamayu (wild silk) is rare and precious comparing with cultured silk. It is hardly dyed, so that it stands out shiny when woven together with silk crepe. It is sewn with very fine choma (ramie) thread so that it is rather old...

Japanese antique scroll container used by a samurai of the Maeda Clan to transport important documents. The interior cylinder is made of bamboo covered with gilded paper brocade and extensive decorative copper reinforcements. The copper has traces of gilt and is incised with the Maeda Family crest as well as designs of pine, bamboo and plum (The Three Friends of Winter, Sho Chiku Bai)...

DESCRIPTION: An attractive oval brass box, the hinged lid decorated with a carved carnelian stone at the center with raised brass leaves on either side. Signed at the interior lid, such a box might have been used for snuff, jewelry, cosmetics or medicines. This is a very special example of Japanese Cloisonne. The workmanship and elegant form are what makes this piece so special. This vase was acquired from one of the world's greatest cloisonne collections. It measures 12 inches tall. Great overall condition but it does has a very tiny enamel flake (See last image) on the back shoulder and minor pitting. It is not signed.

A finely potted large Chinese Imari three colour Charger decorated with a design of a garden with elaborate fence with Lotus finials to the posts and Mudan, flowering Peonies, Asters and various other flowers, coupled with a flowering Baicai, white cabbage (Pak Choi); traditional symbols of prosperity and wealth. The cavetto is undecorated and the rim painted with a further auspicious arabesque of entwined Peonies and Chrysanthemums, symbolising longevity and eternal youth. The reverse is pain...

Edo period, 2 3/8" high, 3/4" wide, Dutchman wearing cute round Hat and carrying Ham holding with Bone, the condition is good, I do not see any damages, two(2) holes in the lower backside for cord go through, bottom is hollow, shows old nice patina.

Early 20th century Gabbeh wide runner. All natural dyes about 6cm missing off the ends and one old repair. L: 262cm/103 and W: 103cm/40.5in. There is some simple Arabic script at the top, but I cannot translate it.
