This is a very fine small Japanese cloisonne vase done in the style of early Namikawa cloisonne pieces. This vase like Namikawa works has butterflies, high sheen mottled enamels and gilt wires. Even so we believe it was probably made by Honda. This heavy piece stands 4 3/4 inches and the condition is nearly mint.
Complete set of 4 Negoro bowls.
Middle of the Edo period (late 17th to early 18th c.).
Very smooth and shiny surface and a particularly deep orange-vermilion, caracteristic of the period.
A damage on the border of the larger one.

Antique Chinese porcelain censer in the form of a lotus pod with wonderfully sculpted, red-accented petals. The lid is gilt and the handles are two lotus buds with curled leaves. The large base cascades downwards in beautiful deep blue, and has the image of a waterfowl and a lotus bud on its front and back.
