This clear quartz stone is carved in the form of a mountain with tall peaks to accommodate five or six small calligraphy brushes. The front has a “ruyi” carved in low relief among rocky outcroppings across its slightly convex facade. The backside is flat and uncarved and reveals the natural flaws in the clear stone. It has a soft polish overall and an even wear. Acquired in Osaka, Japan in the 1970s.

Ming Dynasty, ca. 1600s

This Tang-style camel is glazed overall in a transparent turquoise and stands on a rectangular base, the bottom of which is unglazed, showing the terracotta clay body. The right ear is mostly missing. The neck has a clean break about midway and has been restuck. There is a glaze flake on the left nostril, and an old glaze chip to the base beneath the left rear foot...

Tularosa Black on White Duck Effigy with Dog Head Lug, ca 1175 to 1300 ad., it is in as found condition, no restoration or repaint. It is 4.5"high X 4.75"long. Fine Qing dynasty 18th century bronze censer with the base. 16,8 cm wide. 11,5 mouth diameter. 10,5 cm high with the base. 8,2cm high (only the censer). Censer in Good conditions. Free from any damage except possible censer has been cleaned. Six character Xuande mark. 1570 gram the censer weight. 360 gram the base weight.

Description:

A Lusan dark-glazed ewer was decorated with characteristic and charming blue splashes on the surface.
The beige-tinted body clay was revealed at the bottom and was in old abrasion look.

Date: Tang Dynasty, 8th century.

Height: 18.3cm.

Condition: Perfect.

A carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style depicting a Buddha head under two parasols, flanked by a pair of fans and mounted on stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD). This is Kuge-Costume silk nishijin textile the last part of Edo era is rare(1800-1867).This does not have damage. There is a thin stain to the string of hakama. This very slightly flaring turned huang huali wood brush pot has a well-figured grain and a honey brown tone. The interior has blackened with age and use. It retains its original plug in the base, with it having having some losses to the edges. The exterior base appears to be dark lacquered with some tinges of red showing through. This piece is a well-used scholar's item. It is in generally good condition...

Antique Japanese carved wooden figure of Nio (Buddhist temple guardian), carved of wood with wonderful details and intensity of expression, traces of original pigment, once guarded the exterior gate to Buddhist temple, on metal stand, Edo Period. Size of figure: 30" high x 17" wide x 7" deep. Size on metal stand: 32" high x 18" wide x 12" deep.
