Beautiful keyaki wood choba tansu (merchant's chest), from the Matsumoto region of Japan. It has a beautiful allover woodgrain and has black iron hardware with iron studding. It has two sliding panels with an iron lock down its center, drawers of varying sizes with warabite handles, and a pull-away panel with a kan (ring pull) handle, opening to a small compartment. Size: 34.5" height, 31.5" width, 14.25" depth

This is a very attractive antique Japanese Cloisonne Vase. The colors are very bright and the subject matter is pleasing to the eye. The vase is not signed but we believe it was created by Ando or Gonda, several of the top makers in the late Meiji Era. It stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

Japanese Blue and White Ewer with a loop handle. Decorated in the Chinese Transitional style with figures on a terrace. Arita C1670/80. Height 8 1/4" (20.8cm). Condition; some glaze crazing mainly to foot.

Embroidered with the Forbidden Stitch or Peking Knot. With scenes of figures in gardens with pavillions. Ca. 2nd half 19th century. L. 50 cm. Comes with an old valuation report from Christie's Denmark, made in 1991. Good condition with light stains and discoloring.

Beautiful Jade medallion skillfully pierced and carved on both sides with the Chinese character 'shou' meaning 'longevity'. Around its sides are leaves and lucky bats, which are thought to bring prosperity. 19th century Size: 2.25" diameter, 1/8" thickness

Japanese iron tea kettle/brazier in a gourd shape. The bottom brazier has two openings, one in front and one in back, and has two large, round handles on its sides, held in the mouths of beasts or dragons. The upper portion is for boiling tea and has two slim handles on either of its sides. The hardwood lid has a very cute leaf and flower bud decoration. Comes with two iron coal pokers. Japanese iron lantern that comes in four pieces: The base, which stands on three slightly curved legs, the caged middle with a hinged door, the lid, and the finial on top. Size: 13.5" height, 12" width

Yellow ground Famille Rose saucer dish with gilt " shou " medallion. The base with a iron red six character Guangxu Mark and of the Period. Diameter : 20, 5 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A late Ming - Transitional Wanli - Tiangqi blue and white large jar, rounded side with globular body and glazed base, jar decorated with good underglaze blue of bird butterfly flower and landscape motif, jar is in good condition no damage no chip no crack no restoration, small glaze fritt at the rim, size: 22.5 cm height.

Wonderful Chinese Yixing box with crayfish on lid, cylindrical body with seal on bottom, round lid is made of black clay with highly raised red yixing crayfish, beautiful detail and large imperial mark with writing on the inside of lid. Size: 3 1/2" high x 4 3/4" wide diameter.

Qianlong mark, but probably early 1900s

This baluster-shaped vase is well-potted and rather stout and heavy. Two elephant head handles, in imitation of a bronze form, adorn the sides of the neck. The exterior is covered overall in a puce colored glaze over which a bird, flower, and landscape scene is very finely painted in raised enamels in various colors. Enamel shading is employed throughout the scene and is particularly effective on the flowers...

Large Korean wooden statue of the Amida Buddha or Amitābha, also known as "The Buddha of Infinite Light." He was covered in an oyster shell pigment in order to smooth out the woodgrain, a red lacquer was applied over it, and finally a gold leaf topcoat was applied. He is typically shown in a standing position and is oddly portrayed seated in this statue. 19th century Size: 36" height, 23.5" width, 19.5" depth

Head of Buddha, its face with eyes almost closed reflecting a profound inner serenity. Wood, with numerous layers of polychrome pigments, lacquering and gilding. China, early 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 32 cm. The head is not mounted. Some flaking, otherwise very good condition.

This Chinese pink glazed vase is a mid 19th century product. The entire body is covered with a soft rosy pink glaze, commonly called du Barry rouge. The Chinese name for the shape of this kind of vase is “Tian Qiu Vase” 天 球 瓶. It is 8” high and 5” wide measured from the widest part. It has an honorable “Yong Zhong” 雍 正 (1723~1735) mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition. More detailed photos are available.
