An Arita Nagazara decorated with a Chinese style estuarine landscape in underglaze blue. The reverse decorated with further island vignettes and the base with a four character Chenghua mark. The dish dates to the late 18th century circa 1770-1800. The dish measures 20.8cm in length, 12.4cm in width with a height of 3.8cm. It weighs 378 grams. It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration.

The rim with chrysanthemum, carnation, peony, pomegranate, melon and finger citron in iron red, gilding and green enamels. Qianlong C1760. Diameter: 9″ (22.9 cm) Condition: some minor fritting. One plate with some crazing to the centre and a 1.6 cm glaze crack to the underside rim, another with a shallow 0.65 cm flake to underside rim.

A Japanese Arita dish, in Kakiemon style, of rhomboid shape with rounded, spreading sides rising from a circular foot. The inside is decorated round the sides with a continuous 'classic scroll' boldly moulded in relief, and below with a design painted in pale blue, red, green, black and pale yellow enamels. The rim is glazed brown. The exterior is painted in enamels with sprays of camellia and pairs of flying birds...

I am not very familiar with korean resp. japanese ceramics - I never before have seen a piece like this, but I know, how to look at a piece of porcelain resp. stoneware - this piece is genuine. Chinese Qing 18th century gilt bronze with Xuande mark. 13,8 cm wide (from ear to ear). No dent, no crack, no repair. only found scrach at the gilt. (please see on the photos). 833 Gram weight.

An example of “Kenjo” Imari presentation ware, having high quality enamel decoration in reds, green, aubergine and gilding surrounding underglaze cobalt blue. There is a fine, lightly stained crackle to the interior and exterior base. This piece was made for domestic use in Japan and was not intended for export. Overall good condition. Purchased in Kyoto ca. 1974.

Luxurious and heavy Korean Amamori (leaking rain) Incense Burner Kōro from Edo period.

The irregular shape and the base resemble Japanese Wabi Sabi tea bowls which tells that this piece was made specifically for Japanese market.

Amamori means the surface stained with spots that look like rain leaks on a wall creating beautiful complex scenery.

A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep. A nice late Kangxi famille verte export porcelain plate, possibly for the French market, featuring a bold pine tree rising out of a penjing jardiniere with lingzhi fungi and scholar's rocks...

A beautiful late 18th Century Ox-blood flambe-glazed jar in globular form; under a glossy streaked glaze ranging from deep liver-red through to a lavender blue. H:12 in. Excellent condition.

A fine early 18th sake flask, Tokkuri, of European form, the shape derived from Dutch Gin bottles. It is decorated with alternating panels of the Three Friends of Winter, Shochikubai, and a rather unusual combination of a Dragon amongst clouds, and stylised Ginko. The shoulders of the bottle are decorated with stylised Lotus mon amongst karakusa, and the top with a tako-karakusa, octopus scroll, border.
