Cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay. Shape and style (note the trimmed walls) make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls.
The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical white, feldspatic Shino glaze has been poured under which a decoration of a willow tree (yanagi) and a fence have been applied in iron oxide (oni ita). Just the foot ring and its immediate surrounding was left unglazed...

Antique painting of Hotei/Budai/The Laughing Buddha, standing with a walking stick, and four seated people. They are all observing the sky as what appears to be another Buddha or deity floats on a heavenly cloud, who wears a beautiful robe with gold detailing. Set behind glass and framed, 17th/18th century.

17th Century Tibetan Bhaisajyaguru Thangka, 27.75 x 20 inches, 70.5 x 51 cm. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum.
An beautifully detailed pottery figure of a MNother with her child, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.), dating to late Ming period c. 1550-1600 AD.
The lady is clad in a large thick robe, covering the most of her head, and she is holding a newborn chikd to hear breast. She is standing on a round plint, and the glaze is torquise and dark blue colours.
Nicely painted facial details, careful thick glazing and a fine expression.

Late Momoyama period cylinder shaped (Hantsutsu - slightly destorted but not a Kutsugata yet) tea bowl made of light, rough Mino clay. The fastly but expertly thrown body in the style of a Narumi-oribe bowl, which is a variation of green Oribe style. The whole body with the exception of the foot and it surrounding area are covered with a thin ash glaze, a low iron content of the body has coloured the the glazed part light brown; the brim is accented with copper oxide glaze...
Very little distorted cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl with a rounded brim, made of little reddish, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife in its lower part and through the finger marks (rokuro-me) covered with an ash glaze inside and outside. The little iron oxide in the clay turned the glaze to light brown.
On two opposite sides, decoration has been applied under the glaze in iron oxide with a little white engobe...

Well potted lobed form. The cobalt blue and the representation of the decoration of a Crane is extraordinary nice. Hongzhi - Zhengde Period, Jingdezhen ware. Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery "Celestial Boy" Tile
This large and impressive glazed pottery wall tile was made during the Ming Dynasty, around the late 15th to 16th century. Very old wood statue of Buddhist goddess Sho Kannon Bosatsu (one of the many forms of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara), wearing formal robes, and a diadem with bronze decorations on the two sides, standing on a lotus, her left hand holding a vase, her right hand in abhaya mudra. A pair of strictly museum quality massive gothic candlesticks, probably Nuremberg / Nürnberg, renaissance, c. 1500-1550 AD.
These very large pricket canbelabras, probably for ecclesiastical use, doesn't come much better than this present pair. Stepped domed feet, baluster-shaped stems with flaring sockets. The prickets in iron.

A fine Kakiemon shallow dish of moulded octafoil form decorated in underglaze blue and enamels with a scene from the Tale of Ise featuring the famous eight planked zig zag bridge, Yatsuhashi, over a bed of Irises, kakitsuba. The Kakiemon version combines trailing Cherry blossom with clouds and rain. The lower half of the design incorporates further familiar Kakiemon elements, the almost trade mark, turbulent waves and a water fowl, amongst Irises. Featuring a baluster shaped body, rising from a splayed foot to a long cylindrical neck and is decorated with a central three-clawed dragon, chasing a flaming pearl, bordered by encircling lappets and a mountain peak opposite a vegetal growth, below two cranes on opposite sides of its neck.
