A rare five dynasties yue mise bowl decorated with incised birds motive at inner wall and flower at the center. 15,3cm diameter. 8cm high. Bowlhas been broken on restorations.

This nicely executed ivory carving of a geisha is a late Meiji period (1868~1911) product. It depicts a formally dressed geisha holding a flower in her right hand and an umbrella in her left hand. It is 6 ¼” high, 1 ¾” wide and 1 ½” thick. The artist’s signature, “Masayuki,” is on the bottom. Aside from some hair line cracks due to age, it is in great condition.

This gourd cricket cage is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 4 ½” long and 2” wide from the top. The rim and lid were made of ivory and carved hard wood. A gourd is grown inside a carved wooden form(s) to create a patterned or shaped body. This cage does not have pattern or design but has a very nice balanced, shaped and light brown body. The ivory rim and lid are in great condition as well. There are no repairs, chips or crack lines.

This two handled bronze hand warmer is a late 19th century product. It is 5” long, 4” wide and 2 5/8” high (with handle standing is 4” high). It has a cut out geometric pattern and plain body. There is a maker’s name “Zhang Ming Qi” etched on the bottom. Zhang Ming Qi was a well known bronze maker during 17th or 18th century. But this is a late 19th century copy where the crafts person used the master’s name and style in this studio work...

This is Dramatic Hagoromo Motif kabuki Uchikake kimono in the late Edo period.(1800-1867) It all is expressed with embroidery. It is wonderful beautiful uchikake kimono. It does not have a stain. It has few small small holes in lining cloth. It has the portion from which slight embroidery separated. However, it is not conspicuous. Its design is bold and artistic! It is really an wearable art! This slender, attenuated brush pot (or possibly tool vase) of medium brown tone, displays a visible wood grain pattern on the exterior. The mouthrim and interior appear to retain the original surface. The base is worn fairly smooth from use. The exterior was probably refinished at a later time. Korean Buncheong ware bowl decorated with four medallions of flowers impressed in the center surrounded by a rope like pattern. A definitely lvely pot with an extraordinary rich floral decoration with birds. The glaze and the deep cobalt blue blue strongly reminds on Chinese Jingdezhen ware pieces of the Ming Dynasty. Kangxi mark, possibly of the period, 1662-1722

This pair of soft paste porcelain ovoid jars are decorated in underglaze cobalt blue of a strong sapphire tone. Both jars are decoarted with identical designs of foo lions at play with various stylized cloud elements filling in the background. Surround the neck is a thin line design that forms a six-pointed star when viewing straight down from the top. The necks of both jars are unglazed and originally would have had dome-shaped lids...

Meiji Period, late 1800s

This bronze sculpture of a ram is rather heavy cast and has well-delineated features in both face and coat. It is in good condition and it has its original applied reddish-brown patina overall. No signature is present. This particular subject is not often seen among Japanese bronze sculptures, and it is likely from a set of twelve zodiac figures. Acquired in North Carolina in the early 1980s.
