Charming Ming Dynasty bowl with a pattern of a water buffalos in three different poses, there is hairline crack and gold leaf and lacquer repaired chip. D: 11.5cm/4.5in and H: 4.5cm/1.8in.

Inro 4 cases.Peonies in mother-of-pearl inlaid on a brown lacquered ground and gold dust. Japan earlier Edo 17th century.It is rare to find inros from this period, they are probably the first to have been created. The lacquer is dark red-brown, almost black, it is very solid and despite the shocks and more than three centuries of handling it has not chipped at all. The mother-of-pearl is also well preserved and there is only a tiny lack due to a direct impact...

Late renaissance memento mori skull ring. "Memento mori" jewelry translates to "remember thou must die", a reminder to all to live life fully, as death awaits. Memento mori rings were meant to encourage the practice of reflection on one's mortality. This is a very early ring with black enamel etching along the sides and back and a perfectly shaped skull in intaglio on the front. The ring is silver gilt with black enamel carving. Circa 1620. A large and very impressive tomb pottery horseman, Chinese, 1368-1644 AD. The type has been thoroughly tested and was burnt approx 500 years ago, placing it in the mid Ming period, c. early-mid 16th. century.

The pottery horseman, a higher-ranking officer, was probably originally equipped with a standard of wood, that has now decayed. He is clad in body armor in blue and torquise and wears a cone- shaped helmet...

A small famille verte dish from Chinese transitional period (early 17th century), it was probably made for the Japanese market. There is a "jade" character inside the double circles mark inside the foot rim. Condition: there are four tiny and shallow chips on the rim of the dish, and have been patched, please examine the photos for details. Good antique condition other than this. Diameter: 4-3/4".

This is a small Yuan dynasty blue and white jarlet with a flat base and a bulb shaped body. It has two stylized stalk of sun flowers drawn around the center of the jarlet. The blue and white jarlet is probably used for oinment or some medication.

The blue and white jarlet is in good condition with a possible restoration to the right side circular ear as shown in photo number 4...

Japanese inkstand (suzuribako) in lacquer (urushi). Decor on a spangled background (nashiji) of a lakeside mountainous landscape treated in relief (takamaki-e) flat silver powdered details (hiramaki-e) and mosaic (kirikane ) gold and silver. The rocks are particularly well treated. The interior is decorated with a rich nashiji background forming scrolls of mist and flowers in relief. The suzuribako is complete with its original simple and gilded copper stone and dropper...

Chinese hard porcelain dish. Decor, in reserves, of fruits, flowers and Buddhist emblems painted in underglaze cobalt blue. Late 16th century Chinese work executed during the reign of Emperor Wanly of the Ming Dynasty. The porcelain is of thin thickness which is unusual for the period, and the decoration is carefully executed whereas this style of porcelain is usually crudely executed...

An Extraordinary and Scarce, Museum Quality Find. Early 16th Century Muromachi Period Saga Ningyo of the Goddess Kannon, in a rare and elegant standing form. Carved entirely of wood, her costume is built up with pigments in a technique called 'moriage'. Her gorgeous robes are decorated with foliate scroll slightly raised in relief. This rarest of all Ningyo forms almost never comes up for sale and are never seen except in museums or important private collections...

A Chinese Green Glazed Jar from the 15th-17th century. Height approximately 11.2 cm. Several small chips on the edge of the lid. In good condition.

Thai 14th-15th Century Sawankhalok, Ayutthaya period, glazed ovoid shaped bottle flanked by two small ring ear handles at shoulder, and glazed in olive green celadon tones with horizontal linear markings. Nice shiny gloss to glaze falls short of base. Note slight chipping of glaze on one side. Height is 5 inches.

1300s/1400s

Decorated under the glaze with stylized patterns and concentric circles in iron oxide. Skillfully wheel-thrown and rests on a slightly flaring foot. Well-formed lid is surmounted by a circular knop with a yellowish-brown iron glaze. The interior and foot are unglazed. There are minor areas of glaze degradation on the top of the lid from burial. Some minor wear, small old chips to the interior lip of the bowl. Some evidence of burial earth remaining...
