This 18th century Japanese unsigned hardwood netsuke of a boy is 1 ½ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and 1 inch in depth. It depicts a boy trying to climb on a huge sack. It is in excellent condition.
19th century Japanese Satsuma belt buckle decorated with blooming chrysanthemums by a picnic cloth. Wonderful quality painting, generous use of gold enamel, in excellent condition. Metal backs are stamped with hallmarks in a form of torii (a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine). Size assembled 2.92 x 2 inches.
An Arita blue & white porcelain dish decorated with a pavilion and poetry, an equestrian and servant in the foreground. The dish is moulded with a shallow ‘rinka’ edge. The back is plain and has three spur marks within the foot-rim.
An identical dish is illustrated in the Shibata Collection Vol.4, #303 where it is dated to 1770~1800.

Jizo is one of the most beloved Buddhist Boddhisatva in Japan as a guardian of children and travellers. Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture was once ringed with Jizo statues, and its granite quarries made it a center of religious statue production and sales. This Jizo holds his hands in front of his chest in prayer, or in the traditional Indian greeting of "namaste." His face is well worn from the elements and time, but a faint smile seems to grace his lips. H.25cm(10") x W.13cm(5").
Very large tile in the shape of (and virtually in the size of) a handscroll decorated in underglaze blue with a crashing wave and a full moon. The image is surrounded by borders of geometric flowers and medallions filled with a phoenix. Some of the phoenixes looks left, others look right. Medallions colored in underglaze pink and yellow.

Superbly executed ceramic monkey eating a berry with a whimsical expression of innocent delight. Antique Japanese single section isho tansu (clothing chest) made of kiri (paulownia) wood. Iron hardware includes warabite shaped drawer pulls and round lock plates. There are two large exterior drawers. In the bottom right hand corner is a safe box with hinged door and two small interior drawers.

Antique Chinese huanghuali wood chair with a woven rattan seat. The sides are beautifully carved into a scrolling vine shape with a charming gourd ornament. A well decorated, marked and monogrammed hard paste porcelain compote. A band of peach ground with a finely detailed border of gilt decoration interspersed with green highlights and thin red lines surround the base and the top rim both on the inside and outside.
