A striking antique English porcelain coffee cup. Made at the Worcester factory during the Dr. Wall, or First Period, it is painted with the Pu Tai pattern in beautiful, bright enamels. It shows Pu-Tai, also known as the Laughing Buddha, seated, with two attendants. The cup has a slightly everted rim, a handle of the grooved loop type, and the interior border is gilded in addition to the iron red enamel.

The cup is 2 3/8" tall, with a top diameter of 2 1/8"...

Up for sale is a very large antique chinese red silk tapestry brocaded with polychrome peonies & vines, and gold thread shadows, Qianlong period. The panel is made up of 2 pieces from a yardage, each about 27" wide, and that explains why there is a seam in the middle; the panel backed with light yellow silk. Antique Japanese iron sake server or sakatsugi. The body contains an image of a turtle, a symbol of longevity and used in festive and auspicious occasions. Next to the turtle, although hard to see, is a signature which reads Tosa no Kami Mitsusada, who was a painter from the Tosa School (1738-1806). The image on the sakatsugi is possibly based on a painting by the artist and was incorporated into the design...

An antique Chinese dehua (also known as blanc de chine) of a man riding a donkey-like animal. Unlike the normal subject matter often produced in dehua porcelain, the figure is not dressed in a Chinese manner, but in a European style. The back contains two seals: the gourd shaped seal reads: dehua and the square seal is possibly the artist name, which translates as: seal of Ke Qianzhong. Age: Late 19th -20th century. Size: height 12.75" width 5.25" length 8.75"

Antique Japanese bronze usubata made of woven bronze. An usubata is a floral arranging container for ikebana. The base is made in the form of an open weave bamboo basket with a six point star pattern. The top is a close weave. The handles are bamboo branches with leaves climbing over the basket. Meiji period 1868-1912. It measures 12" wide 11" tall.

Beautiful Antique Chinese silver box, oval shape with elaborate design on lid of two dragons and swirling clouds, hinged lid, Wang Hing and Co. mark a Hong Kong company from China Trade Era late 19th century-early 20th century. Size: 5 3/4" long x 4" wide x 1 7/8" high.

Chinese jade carved elephant, beautifully rendered with detailed features, pale green jade with orange striations, Republic Period. Has a rosewood stand. Size: 4 1/4" high x 5 1/2" long x 3 1/2" deep.

Pair of ironstone plates with chinoiserie decoration of flowering plants with a flower border and thin blue printed scallop border. Back marked with an elaborate blue printed mark of a crown over what looks like a log with a garland of flowers and a ribbon with the words, "TONQUIN CHINA." The pattern number '500' is written in orange on both plates. The factory is unidentified. Diameter 8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm).

As is typical of ironstone, the blue is under glaze and the other colors overglaze ...

A fine,large and very rare eight sided documentary vase (with fitted wood stand) - decorated in Chinese scholar's taste and bearing two poems.
